WHERE TF WAS DAN GREEK?! Pete was in WAAAY over his head. Pretty sure the Stephenville HS QB could've done better.

Rewatching the game after returning home and a few observations

1. Gabalis wasn’t great but ok. We get killed next week if he can’t play.
2. 3rd string QB Pete isn’t very good.
3. 2nd string QB Greek didn’t play but dressed after off-season surgery.
4. Very pleased with an attendance of 16,125 with the unbelievable heat.
5. New Texan Rider statue is really cool and looks great in front of the stadium.
6. Old tennis courts are now a much needed parking lot.
7. New building under construction next to baseball stadium for concessions and restrooms.
8. Really coming along on the new arena. Might be ready in 25.
9. Progress being made on the construction of new Medical Professionals building.

Lots of great things happening at Tarleton.

That is being very generous. He is terrible at the HS level much less at the FCS level.

Moving forward if the Texans have to depend on him and that erratic kicker its going to be a loooong season.

Head Coaching was terrible as well. 26-7 and in usual Whitten fashion put your foot on the brake instead of the gas pedal.

Unimpressive at best. Disappointing would be a compliment.

Final score 26-23, right? Good luck against Baylor, HCU and SLU! It's okay, even classy to not run up the score against a weaker opponent. But it looks like Tarleton came pretty close to blowing this one.

I was trying to be nice.

If Gabalis plays the entire game, we win by 30. We need to know his status for next week. The backup QB is Meeks and he was suited for the game but didn’t play.

I did have a huge issue with Whitten’s decision is go for the FG with about 4 minutes remaining in the game. So we are up 10 with 4 minutes left and McNeese has 2 TOs. We are on their 12 yard line and facing 4th and 2. A FG still leaves them scoring twice but changes it to 2 TDs instead of a TD and a FG. We get the two yards and it’s ballgame. We know our offense is really struggling with the 3rd string QB so let's finish McNeese. Instead we try a FG and miss, which was our second miss for the day along with a missed XP.

Maybe the field goal was his thinking of working on the exchange that sucked on the one of the previous PAT's. I agree that Whitt happens and this is the result of conservative play calling. Who TF is the holder? . The place kicker was screaming at him multiple times. Would like to see a qb in this position due to used to receiving snaps and the ability to get a 'fire' situation to turn into points.

Interesting article.

What I wouldn't give to have students care like that again.

Didn't mention it, but I believe the pilots had JT shaved in their heads.

1. A win is a win no matter how ugly it was.
2. He should have gone for it on that 4th down instead of kicking the fg
3. Either McNeese has a killer offense or our defense can not stop the run or pass. Though they are good at getting turnovers!
4. Our RB's are really good!
5. Whitten is a mediocre coach at best and the sooner he leaves the better off we will be.

Was as a Victor Gabalis watch party up here in WA b/c he's from down the road from me. He looks like he did in HS and when he was as WSU. Hope it clicks and he rips up the FCS. Nice kid but hope he shakes off the Minshew Jr running joke. Anyways 1st half was an A in my book while the 2nd half was D-. Your team should be just fine if Vic gets on the field next week and stays out there.

It wasn't the defense. They were slap wore out from all the pathetic offensive series under the 3rd string QB. Either he needs to be red shirted to develop or find another position. Everything he did or attempted to do was rote and telegraphed. Just not good no matter how optimistic you try to spin it.

Whitten great recruiter. His coaching was suspect at best this past Saturday.

I watched the game and rooted for the Texans but was wondering why Tarleton did not focus more on your great running game? The second half seemed like the Texans were experimenting with plays that were not in your normal playbook. VG played differently and very well in the earlier part of the game. What is the report on his hand/wrist injury?
