Walz Sidelining Shapiro Shows the Antisemites Have Won
Quote:Most observers were shocked when Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was nominated to run as Kamala Harris's vice president. While highly touted Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro had the possibility of moving Pennsylvania into the Democratic column, it is hard to see what Walz brings to the ticket.

Some people refer to Minnesota as a swing state, the fact it that it is deeper blue that New York or Massachusetts. The last time Minnesota voted for a Republican for president was in 1972, and it was the only state that went Democrat in Ronald Reagan's 49-state romp in 1984. Walz's politics are hard left. He's pro-BLM rioters, pro-abortion, pro-genital mutilation of children, and anti-police. His record in the Minnesota National Guard reeks of opportunism. According to his colleagues (Paid letter: The Truth About Tim Walz and Third command sergeant major corroborates story of Walz dodging deployment), he unceremoniously retired when his battalion was ordered to Iraq. Even though he portrays himself as a Command Sergeant Major, the truth is he never completed the required academic work to hold that rank and was retired with a one-grade reduction.

Walz has a DUI (his blood draw pegged him at .128 BAC), which is not something the "public health" and Karen wings of the Democrat party go for.

Shapiro is fairly moderate by Democrat standards and won by the blowout of 15 points in a state that has gone for the GOP in seven of the last eight elections. (A victory he owes to Donald Trump for endorsing possibly the only candidate worse than "Dr. Oz" in the 2022 election cycle.) Theoretically, he could put that state into play and convince a large number of unaffiliated voters that Kamala is not a dangerous leftist nutter.

When you cut through all the underbrush, I think it comes down to one issue. Shapiro is Jewish.

The current Democrat coalition is pervasively antisemitic. The antisemitism isn't localized to a few Ivy League campuses where antisemitism has been a strong undercurrent since at least the 1920s and the advent of "Jewish quotas." It has become part and parcel of mainstream Democrat politics, with several out and proud Jew-baiters in the Democrat House Caucus. A major campaign was launched inside the Democrat party, called the "No Genocide Josh" campaign, to block Shapiro because he supports Israel, which, in this case, is a transparent proxy for attacking him for being Jewish. In a close-fought election, Kamala's campaign couldn't take the chance of the antisemites sitting it out.

There was also a danger of running a campaign in Michigan with a Jewish vice president who has served in some way with the Israel Defense Forces. Trump carried Michigan in 2016, the first Republican to win there since 1988. He lost by 2 points in 2020 after COVID destroyed election integrity. Angry "river to the sea" types refusing to vote for an observant Jew and vocal supporter of Israel could easily flip that state. And if Michigan flips to the GOP, barring a catastrophe, the election is over.

I think there is a third part of the equation that ties into the rampant antisemitism on the left more than the Israel-Hamas slugfest. Kamala's husband is Jewish. There is no way that broad segment of the Democrat coalition that seems to believe that Jews are to blame for everything from crop failure to boils on the buttocks will campaign or vote for a ticket that would place two White Jewish men at the center of power. It isn't equitable, it isn't diverse, it isn't inclusive, it isn't intersectional, and it isn't going to happen.

Walz may stun me by being a dynamite campaigner, but he strikes me more as an old-style Soviet apparatchik than someone comfortable on the national stage. But no matter his talents, he got the nod for one reason: open antisemites now own the Democrat party.

I didn't realize her husband was Jewish. I guess that explains why she didn't take his surname, Emhoff. Pretty much a giveaway. Which, by the way, happens A LOT.... women not taking surnames in politics, media, etc. It kind of throws critics off the scent.

Conservatives recognize Israel is an important ally. Democrats give lip service then treat them like the enemy to appease the antisemite in the party. American Jews habitually vote democrat. It's like they have Stockholm syndrome.

Got a radical leftist.

And Minnesota was looking very close. But it wasn't a critical state. I don't think the Democrats can win if Trump takes Pennsylvania again.

Free Shite for everyone but those who work hard, pay their bills and taxes, and just want to provide for their families. And everything the government makes free falls upon them to pay!

It's time this commie fairy tale ended!

Weird that most on the left who are thrilled that Shapiro wasn't picked would also have been thrilled had Bernie Sanders somehow been the pick. Not sure what that tells me, other than all of you are retarded.

Shapiro could have also been an issue in Michigan as the Dearborn voters might not have been enthused to vote a ticket with him on it.

I dunno, maybe maybe not. All I know is there was absolutely no group who actually had any negative feelings about Walz. Pelosi likes him, Bernie likes him, Manchin likes him. There's no part of the coalition the Dems need that have any negative feelings towards Walz. Shapiro on the other hand had labor unions coming out against him, the left coming out against him, and 2 controversies surrounding him that would have been massive problems. The his office covering up sexual abuse allegations among his staff and the one that would have been a disaster the homicide/suicide case that's at the PA SC right now and him having taken a donation from the spouse. I think there's a very good chance what comes out of that case is going to sink his entire political future, and it ain't like it's a secret this board had a thread about it, it would have been a moronic risk to pick him with that right out there in the open.

I live less than hour from Dearborn and a friend lives even closer. He has a good pulse on the community there, and they were very afraid of Shapiro. Michigan could come down to a few thousand votes.

RE: Walz Sidelining Shapiro Shows the Antisemites Have Won
WATCH: Jake Tapper Squirms On-Air As His Co-Hosts Spew Antisemitism About Josh Shapiro

Quote:The national press is scrambling to provide alternative reasons why Kamala Harris passed over Josh Shapiro for Tim Walz as her running mate. Some are even blaming it on Donald Trump, claiming he was behind a whisper campaign to keep the Pennsylvania governor off the ticket.

Of course, we all know the real reason. You don't pass over a very popular, extremely well-spoken governor of a must-win swing state for an awkward radical from Minnesota because you genuinely think Walz is the better candidate. This was about one thing: Shapiro being Jewish.

When it became clear that Harris was favoring Shapiro (and I still think he was the pick at one point), a relentless campaign from the far left commenced. Echoed in the press, it suggested that he was simply unacceptable to the progressive wing of the party. That wasn't because he doesn't have a fairly left-wing record (he does). Rather, it was about appeasing Hamas supporters in the Democratic Party and concerns Shapiro would cost votes in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Some Democrats are smart enough to nibble at the edges. Others are just dumb enough to say the quiet part out loud. That happened on CNN, and it left Jake Tapper squirming as he desperately tried to redirect his co-hosts to no avail.

PHILLIPS: And I think ultimately, Shapiro, I think fit is important, but, you know, I also think when you look at the principle of "do no harm," maybe they did say in a state like Minnesota, do we want to, there were 100,000 uncommitted voters who came out about the Gaza war, do we want to antagonize those voters? Those are part of the question as well.

TAPPER: Can I just say...

CORNISH: Tim Walz also spoke conciliatory towards those people. He said, look, that uncommitted vote is significant, and those people should be heard. So having that kind of response, I think, is probably more of an open door to the parts of the party that have been very frustrated with the Democrats.

At that point in the segment, Tapper is scrambling to try to interject to stop Phillips and Cornish from saying what they are saying, which is essentially admitting that Shapiro was passed over because he didn't coddle radical antisemites in Minnesota. Eventually, he gets his chance.

TAPPER: So, but, just to, just to, one point on the Gaza war. Shapiro has the same position on Israel that Gov. Walz, that Sen. Kelly has. He's actually been more critical of Netanyahu than the other two, but, he is Jewish.

CORNISH: He's also the face of the crackdown on the protests, right? He spoke very vehemently about those protests as being antisemitic.

TAPPER: Not all of them. The ones that were antisemitic he criticized for being antisemitic.

CORNISH: Of course, but he was out front on the issue. So, I'm wondering if that's the kind of thing, again, for the activist wing of the party, was a slap in the face.

What's so great about that part of the exchange is that Tapper tees it up for Cornish. He gave her an out to clarify her point so it didn't sound so obvious that Shapiro was sidelined for being Jewish. Instead, she just doubled down by bringing up the campus protests, which were antisemitic. Tapper again jumps in to provide another yet another out, and Cornish again goes back to the well, admitting that the "activist wing" of the Democratic party are antisemites who can't abide anyone criticizing actual antisemitism.

It's as astonishing as it is pathetic. Watching Tapper wink and nod at his co-hosts, all but begging them to be just a little bit less antisemitic on-air is the current state of the press.

We hate dictators who wants to be like Hitler JR. BeBe is one of them. We don't hate Israel, we just hate their fair right dictatorship who wants to wipe out other people who they view don't belong there.
