Last few milder winters than normal has a lot of douchnozzle liberals from Chicago moving up here.

Anecdotally I'd say we are due for a cooling trend. I'm on the coast of NC and it's been a long time since the creeks and rivers have consistently frozen over. I can remember as a kid it was most of January and early Feb there would at least be skim ice over the entire creek. Fishing nets in the winter was brutal. Last 20 years I've done it in little more than waders and a sweatshirt.

That said. if you look at the long term history of the earth---ice ages are far more of a threat to human civilizations than an extra half degree of average temperature. In fact, you could argue that increasing the temperature of the globe might actually be helpful at fighting future ice ages.
