Trump has consistently said that he will oppose a national “abortion ban” and that abortion-policy will be decided on a state-by-state basis. That’s not playing to the base, it’s playing to the middle, and doing so on an issue that is extremely galvanizing to the base.
He has held a rally in South Bronx and showed up for a very hostile interview with NABJ media in Chicago yesterday. These are not “playing to the base” type of moves, not at all.
Exactly... Trump is running to win. He's playing to the middle in places "Republicans" never go. Would John McCain or Mitt Romney go to a black journalist convention and take questions? They can't even get Kamala to take questions anywhere.
Would McCain or Romney hold a rally in South Jersey or the South Bronx?
Trump was shot, came within a few millimetres from losing his life. How does he respond? He's going back Butler, PA to finish his speech.
Kamala is running like she's running for president of her sorority. The presidency isn't a national popularity contest.... it's a swing state contest that requires you get out and meet the people.
You can't get the girls together, do your nails and braid your hair to win the White House.
If Kamala thinks she can win by having white people kiss her back side on zoom calls while black and brown voters are ignored, she's in for a rude awakening.
So far, and I hope she continues it, Kamala has taken the black and hispanic vote for granted. She's not talking about issues they face. She's not talking about issues with anyone.
Trump needs to keep doing what he's doing. Do a few more town halls and let voters ask questions. Hold rallies and connect with people. Eventually Kamala will have to answer.
If I was Trump's campaign manager I would hold a rally on the Southside of Chicago the week the DNC is there. Trump's not going to win Illinois but it would send a message to voters in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Detroit and Milwaukee that he understands what hardships the last 4 years have caused. While the other candidate continues ignoring them.
