You're allowed to protest.
You're allowed to speak your mind.

But you're not allowed to break the law. The First Amendment says "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances". When people are blocking roads, buildings, and attacking others it's no longer peaceful and therefore not covered by the 1st Amendment.
