On another note, JU hired former FGCU great/Stetson AC Brett Comer to fill out the staff after Michael Fly left for Luke Loucks staff at FSU. Fly was on the staff when Loucks played at FSU. Coach Fly will be missed but we feel very fortunate to have had him for 2 years. Comer is a nice addition though. Current JU AC Troy Pierce will be elevated to Associate HC. Pierce will be going into his 4th year at JU after coming in from SIUE.

I was shocked by the JU score. UNA had a terrible game there a couple seasons back. Didn’t realize Coach Fly was on the move. Thanks for the update!

JU had not played in 18 days and it showed, Incarnate Word had played the day before. JU turned it over 18 times and their usual D was left in Jax.

I got to know Michael Fly a little bit while he was with JU. A good guy who really liked Mincy, JU and Jacksonville. I knew it was just a matter of time before he got a bigger job (again). Thankful for his time here.

Lane is in the portal. Sad but not surprising. There are a lot of ASUN players in the portal. Big names from several teams and some with almost the whole team (Bellarmine and UCA).

UNF has lost their top 4 Players. Total attrition (Portal/Eligibility expired) they have lost 89% of their scoring. The other shoe hasn't dropped at JU yet, but I expect it any day.

Of the (20) players that were All ASUN (15) or All ASUN Freshman (5) team, all but 3 are Seniors or have entered the Portal. I include have included JU's Robert McCray on this list despite the fact that he hasn't yet been listed in the Portal (by Verbal Commits). The (7) listed in the Portal include (2) freshmen. I assume that the (10) listed as Sr's are not eligible to return. The 3 players that at this point look like they will return are Freshmen McCubbin/APU, Arias/JU, and Phillips/Stetson.

A lot of rebuilding to be done in the ASUN.

McCray has gone Portal. Potential destination schools I have heard are Alabama, Auburn and FSU. I wish Rob the best, a really humble and nice young man that deserves his big payday.

Lennie Acuff is leaving Lipscomb for the Samford job. I would think that former Belmont big Mick Hedgepeth might be a strong candidate for Lipscomb.
