I could see them maybe having a scheduling aggreement with them if they were forced to go independent to give them someone to play, but not to win championships in their little club. They would be like St Thomas was in their D3 league and everyone would get ticked off pretty quick. I think its WCC of bust for CBU and unless a spot opens up, they just have to wait and be patient, they are the next best candidate for the WCC so most likely it is just a matter of time. 2-3-5-10 years who knows but I am sure they will get there in the end.

UTA is probably the biggest flight risk at the moment if the MVC comes calling but the MVC may want to look at a football school since the Dakota's are threatening to start up a Summit football league. Also they would be on an island in the MVC like CBU is now in the WAC. There is also the fact that the WAC gave them a home when they were kicked out of the Sunbelt saving them from the SLC or OVC and leaving them in the time when they are needed most would be a pretty !@#$@$@# thing to do. If the WAC loses one more school right now it is probably done and UTA would be known as the school who officially killed the WAC. Is being a midling at best team in the MVC worth that when they now have much greater odds at getting to the post season in the WAC worth it?

Utah Schools- The BSC is full and they are not wanted there anyway, but the Summit would be a possibility. Again though, The Summit is barely more stable than the WAC at the moment and the Dakota schools could end up in the MWC in a year or two so why jump from one unstable situation to another. Might as well wait it out, If the WAC were to dissolve the Summit would take them without hesitation and probably CBU as well.

Tarleton and ACU have no reason to leave for anywhere at the moment. If things fell apart I could see them continuing with the UAC for football and putting everything else in the Summit or a Full Summit with Football.

CBU is the only one that could possibly get "left out in the cold" and forced with independence, but I think the BWC WCC BSC and former WAC schools would work with them the best they could to atleast fill thier schedule. Everyone will be OK no matter what happens, but I think it is best for everyone to stick together as long as possible and try to add some numbers. 1-3 D2 schools would work for now. As long as the a AQ bid is there, then everything will be ok.

Cal Baptist would run over everyone in the Big West, huh?
Hawaii expected the same thing; they haven't found things easy.

Except for what matters the most in Hawaii. Two national championships and two championship game losses in Men’s Volleyball since joining the Big West.

I got caught making that program the late evening streaming watch too many times this spring. More than 9,000 for most conference games, some big time top ten games early on. Those matches are the true events in Honolulu, and they make for big road crowds (more “ex-pat” than traveling) wherever they’re scheduled.

I suppose this is where I mention being in Lahaina in 2018 and watching either HS volleyball or some AAU circuit there on local TV… that’s how much of a thing it is on the islands.

And you can argue that it’s not a big money sport in most places compared to there, and you’d be right. But damn!

Yes, it's funny how we tend to believe FB and BB are the only potential "revenue" sports, and then you see baseball at TCU, or women's gymnastics at Southern Utah. And I'm sure there are lots of other examples like wrestling or ice hockey teams that further support your observations about volleyball in Hawaii. Good stuff!
