He'll be busy being Dean of the Law School.

Don’t worry you will have another whipping boy soon. That’s all the AD is at Memphis. Never gets any credit but gets all the blame. Maybe the hardest job in college athletics

The school needs an advocate & right now, we don’t really have one. Hopefully, they’ll find a guy who is willing to put themselves out there… to lead. From Hardgraves down to Silverfield, we don’t have anyone who comfortably sells the school. Cal did it. Rudd did it. Since Rudd, we’ve had nothing but behind the scenes guys. We don’t need everyone to be the frontman but we do need one.

It’s true we have no frontman. A frontman needs to be fearless (the Tiger at the door) and that requires confidence and charisma. There’s that word again. lol

Anyway I have a strong feeling about this hire. The list looks good!

What AD has overseen more accomplishments?

Yeah, I know. Just a hypothetical. I've always wondered about the job description.

He’s excited about this. Had dinner with him and his wife a few months ago.

Giannotto is advocating for an African American for next AD.

Mentions Allen Greene, Mark Alnutt, Tim Duncan, and Mikki Allen by name.

NASCAR is going to be pissed!

I hope we hire the best person for the job. Who cares what gender, race, nationality, background they are?

Maybe one day we'll see Martin Luther King's dream become reality, judging people based on their merits and not based on the color of their skin.

Agree. Hire the best person for the position. No matter what. Giannotto really dropped the ball with his view on this.

I think Greene and Alnutt would be excellent hires. Know nothing about Mikki Allen. Tim Duncan is a long time friend and he has really done well however, he has ZERO experience with major college football. That's a non-starter for me.

With it being common knowledge for months, if not longer, that Veatch has been seeking another "bigger better" job, I hope the Administrators have been working on a placement for awhile.

Like you, I think both Greene and Alnutt would be good hires. I'm not sure what happened to Greene when he was at Auburn.

Who knows. Bobby Lowder probably got his pesky little paws in it somehow.

Blew up after the Malzahn firing and Harsin hiring. The boosters ran Gus off, and they couldn't agree on a replacement. Not sure how much blame Greene should get, but he was sitting in the chair.

I think Alnutt would be solid. Don’t know much about the others.

Does it really need to be limited to "professional" AD's?
We've had a mixed bag of pro AD's over the past 20 years.
Would a local who was successful in other areas work - somebody like Jim Strickland?
Not advocating - just throwing it out for discussion.

The University is on a roll hiring former FedEx Execs. Maybe they should go after Rob Carter.

He's just looking for a left handed reach around....

Pathetic in this day and age to be a race baiter.

We have to hire someone with football and maybe even television experience.

Tim is a great guy.

Why?

Just hire the best person for job.

Seem to remember a guy that came through town years ago.

He always emphasized that when looking at a person we should look at his character and not focus on his skin color.

He was one of those preachers who was in a different town from week to week.

with everything that is in the works the new hire must be a football person. too much at stake to hire a non football person.
