Do tell!! :-)

Duffeld reached on an error - ground ball to 3b, throw to first was wide, Duffeld took 2nd.
Correa hit a line drive to right. RF made a dive for the ball, missed. If you saw Justin Ruchti's hit in Omaha against Huston Street, it's a nearly identical play...with much less at stake.

No one has commented on the umpiring. The plate umpire was the worst I've ever seen at calling balls and strikes. Just awful. His strike zone was as big as all outdoors. Most of the time. I thought he was bad both ways, but UAB felt particularly jobbed. Coach and one player came dangerously close to getting tossed.

RE: UAB game 2
Once again, I would ask that those who are critical when things are not going well give credit when this team does something good. I am not saying this team is great, but their efforts yesterday should be recognized. Scoring in the 8th to tie and then again to score 2 in the 12th after going behind, and finally winning in the 15th shows some fight. From the reactions of the players after the game winning hit yesterday (and after Friday's game), I am hopeful that feeling of winning has some carryover.

It is disappointing that there are people who want this team to lose so they can promote their agendas.

I think you're looking for a conspiracy where one doesn't exist. I don't see any of the handful of Parliamentarians that still post in these baseball game threads only being critical. Yes, we point out when things are bad. i.e., runner at 3B with less than 2 outs and the next two hitters K, but we give credit when it is earned / due, i.e., pitching out of a tough jam with no damage or getting the walk off game winning hit. The fact that we are still posting here as miserable as the last few years have been (fact, not criticism) speaks to the fact we all want Rice baseball, and athletics in general, to succeed.

I try to NOT post negatives about our teams in all sports, even when I am thinking them. But I will concede, I need to post more often when we do the good things. We need more positives here.

Bingo. No one is rooting for Rice baseball to lose. I not only continue to watch and follow each and every game, but I spend good money to travel down to Houston each month to watch them play in person. Sorry if calling a spade a spade is being overly critical. Yes, we showed some resilience yesterday, but gawd, if we weren't so pathetic and inefficient offensively we should have won that game multiple times in the first 9 innings....or if our pitchers didn't continue to put multiple men on base each inning via BBs and HBPs at an unprecedented rate.
