It's going to be a lot of fun when Bucky is on our sideline

I'm done. I stopped watching this team after the disaster at McNeese and thought I'd jump back in for this game since we had a winning streak, but it's more of the same. Call me a bad fan, but I don't enjoy watching horrible basketball.

During the half, can someone tell Donohoo to stop shooting threes?

Yep, but I also think Alabama would look for another P5 coach before him first

Head over to Bartow to watch the ladies play at 2.

I can’t promise they'll play clean enough basketball that it doesn’t make you want to gouge your eyes out, but they will play hard.

RE: FAU Owls
UAB is a .500 team when Gaines shoots 10 or more shots - he’s well on pace to do that.

We are undefeated when he takes less than 10 shots.

It’s obvious - he isn’t a good three point or mid range shooter, even when open, and is way too skinny and weak to finish over or around anyone at the rim. When he is taking a lot of shots, we are a bad team. He HAS to be the conservative, pass first, clean, EG for us to be competitive.

He hasn’t improved one area of his game from last year in any visible way.

I would love to see the plus/minus stats for this game. That rotation with no Gaines, Davis or Yax was just straight up weird. I’m sure Andy was trying to go small to get some perimeter shots going but this defense has been suffocating. We needed an elite shooting performance today and welp, just ain’t our day.

Should have gave ‘somebody’ the door to his behind when he was visiting Morgantown.

It’s pretty obvious FAU just came to play today: their body language, their energy, and their crowd - just on another level from us.

Kind of like the conference championship game last year when we didn’t bother to show up. They took it seriously and we didn’t. Same today.

We need a big variance in 3pt percentage where they shoot worse than their norm and we shoot better than ours to win it. Good news is that have had several games where that exact thing has happened this season.

They are shooting over 50% from the field, we are shooting 30% from the field and (checks notes) 0% from 3pt. Obviously not our recipe for making this a competitive game.

RE: FAU Owls
I would have sworn that I heard we'd recruited a couple of three point shooters.

Gaines doing Gaines things.

They don't play his press, but Mike Anderson would love FAU's transition game off of defensive plays.

From who? I thought we were all on board that we still needed a shooter, PG, and a true big.

AK hasn't recruited shooters who actually perform, outside of Jelly and Ertel (sometimes), or point guards, the whole time he's been here. He just wants a bunch of sloppy, athletic, 6'2" to 6'8" guys who play street ball.

Not good this year.

Underperformed last year.

Underperformed two years ago, but had a good run in the conference tourney to make the dance.

Played well and better than the roster his first year.

RE: FAU Owls
"Andy Kennedy to David Crane on how his team matches up today vs FAU: Not great. They play four perimeter guys. Johnell Davis plays the majority of the game at the 4 spot. Our 4 man is Yax and Chris Coleman. OK, that's going to be an issue for us defending them."

Certainly can find some talent but they're not necessary to compete for championships. Just because someone is a freak athlete doesn't mean they're good at the true fundamentals, and what bothers me is we all see it but I don't know if they do. Sure i'm watching on the couch while he's making $ doing this but cmon now it's been a bit glaring for more than one season
