Luxury car explosion
Happening now in Russia. Registrations of cars costing over $100,000 USD are up significantly. This is on top of the 250% increase from 2022 in the post Covid shopping spree.

Leading the pack are Aston Martin and Rolls Royce. Tsk tsk to the Brits for not enforcing the sanctions they pushed so hard for. Ditto to Mercedes and the Germans. Ditto to the Italians, although they are only half on board anyway.

Job boards in Finland are loaded with car dealers and auto related industries hiring hundreds of people, as this EU country is probably making killer profits as one of the EU’s biggest gateways to Russia.

Another sanctions flop, courtesy of capitalism and the desire/need to make money. Seems the Europeans haven’t forgotten how economics works afterall03-lmfao

Well, the $100K and up cars are getting snatched up by Russians all over the country. If the sanctions can’t even keep something as conspicuous as $12 million Bugatti La Voiture Noires from Russians, there is no chance of keeping millions of tiny chips from making their way in.

These sanctions are such a pathetic flop. And the US still brags about them, how they have 13,000 different sanctions on Russia, how they are the toughest in world history lol.

So, I’m not sure what to make of Ukraines lux car market right now.

They are in the middle of a total economic collapse, but premium car sales have doubled.

Is it the corruption that has given so many new buyers cash to burn? Or is it true that many of the cars end up in Russia? Or some of both? Guess it depends on how much Ukraine has been making arming Hamas for their war.
