I'm nervous about this one. Liberty was missing their top RB Billy Lucas for the entire Sam Houston game and their other great RB Quinton Cooley for half the Sam Houston game. I expect both to be back. But Jacksonville State is on this joyride nothing can go wrong type run and they are going to have a large crowd behind them. While Liberty has 5 days rest. Jacksonville State mixes up their defenses a lot and I hope Salter and the coaching staff can handle it.

Next year Texas will be in the SEC, and in years where they are 2-5, they’ll still manage to land a prime ESPN slot while 6-1 Kentucky v 6-1 Mississippi State will be on SECN at 11am.

I think the WKU AD could have fought harder to land an ESPN2 a lot by a)agreeing to play at 9pm (the slot UTEP got for two or those games) or b) playing more than two mid-week games (Thursday games don’t quite count).

From the outside it looks like UTEP agreed to play three Wednesday in a row after a Friday, whereas WKU only gave up two Tuesday’s. For example, this week WKU probably could have had the Wednesday ESPN2 game if the CUSA schedulers had them hosting , but alas they are off.

Next week, on paper NMSU-UTEP looked like the more compelling option before the season started (when they selected these games - an argument should be made here that they should have waited to pick the TV channels until the 10-day window) than the WKU-JSU game. Since they picked before the season started, it’s explainable.
The head-scratcher is week 9 when WKU-Liberty face-off. That game, both before the season and now, seems like it was tailor-made to showcase CUSA. Since it’s in Huntsville, it seems like it was based more on SHSU (and possibly drawing in UTEP eyeballs), but it’s definitely the one that WKU and Liberty fans have real beef with the tv slot selections.

The real kicker is that WKU plays at UTEP on Saturday 11/4 at 8pm and so far that game doesn’t have a TV selection. TV (especially ESPN2) loves them some UTEP…but not when they play WKU?

IMO game could go either way--but JAX State sure plays well in the 2nd half of games.

JSU helmets look awesome. Stands are full. Team looks legit. Rich Rod is the real deal. JSU was prepared to move up as opposed to SHSU and KSU. Ha! Discuss…

Pretty even game so far. Worried what tricks Rich Rod has up his sleeve in 2nd half. Salter is not playing well.

What’ve we discovered in the first half? Nothing really, other than these teams seem evenly matched. If anything Jax St. is more agressive and the Liberty front four can’t seem to bring the pressure on D.

It seems that even though Jax is only four points ahead I think that they have the strongest offense. They're actually doing what they want a will. I'm rooting for Liberty though, rooting for someone makes the game more fun, otherwise it's just a game.

My question for Liberty why don't you just pick ONE mascot and stick with it. You have Flames on your unis and a bird on your helmets. I don't get it, enlighten me. But why the Flames? Aren't you a Christian school?

Liberty has one mascot - Eagle (Sparky) and one nickname - Flames (Knowledge Aflame). Similar to Alabama - Crimson Tide (nickname) and Elephant (mascot).

Liberty leads 24-13.

We really really really really need a 4-5 min. TD drive right here.
