The only derangement here, are the mopes who continually beat the drum of poor trump instead of actually looking at the case, what he's accused of, and how the trial is progressing. That's all tanq and I are really doing here. It's really not even about trump personally any more as you guys continually want to direct this discussion to. But I see why, actually, it's hard to defend the indefensible.
For years you types are all law and order and if you break the law and such you should pay. Now you want to seem to ignore all that just because someone might have looked a little too hard or was a little overzealous in finding laws broke by trump.
Well, ****, it looks like he did break the laws....but hey let him go because a mean person or a person with an agenda actually found that he did likely break some laws.
That, sir, is sort of deranged. Abandoning your so called morals all for the cult.
And again, nobody is forcing you to continually click on this thread and create posts while you tell us how WE are somehow deranged for clicking on and posting in it.
Your state AG could throw your ass in jail if he wanted to. I’m sure he could find enough to indict the ham sandwich you are. To bad he doesn’t.
Query: Is this really the case where law enforcement should be expending this amount of resources? I mean, are there no murders or assaults or theft or real crimes with actual victims in this jurisdiction?

People don't realize the power a DA or AG truly has
A lot of their limitations are solely due to ethics and political/societal pressure. They don't have many checks and balances

That goes for virtually every branch of gov't.
It is depressing how much time (my own and that of staff) and money (outside bookkeeping and cpa) I devote to staying tax compliant. And mine is just a small - - four person - - operation. Yet if the IRS wanted to take me down, they could do so. Not because I've done anything wrong. I haven't. But because they have the resources to crush me like an inconsequential bug, and the lack of a human soul to be willing to do so.
That tanq. and others refuse to see the danger in the powers that are being wielded against our citizenry is a big part of what keeps this threat real. If the American population insisted that our gov't respect the rights of this citizens (think of the "Boxer" character in Orwell's "Animal Farm"), then the gov't would have to comply. But we don't. Because there are too many tanq.'s who are happy to make excuses for gov't overreach being directed against those who they don't like. Without considering the consequences of it being wielded against themselves and others down the road.
Say this at least for Donald Trump. He is a bright and noisy mess, and serves the purpose of bringing the enormous threat of government into the daylight. I give him due credit for that.

lol ... it's about dadgum time you realized his greatest contribution from the oval pulpit ... sig lines 1b) v. 1c) indirectly 'played' out that battle before '16 .... yeahhhhhh
the rest of the posit (which you've consistently displayed throughout the timeline) is a valid one...
fwiw, there's been some serious head-scratching from nuts zongo's perspective at just shy of a handful from those I respect on this matter ... I simply get tired of repeating myself ... hence the ubiquitous, "cya in court, honey!"

You think no financial crime should be prosecuted ever, more Republican law and order.

Best to just ignore grandpa. He left the side of reason and sanity a few years ago.

For overstating the value of an asset? If this was always pursued the same way as this Trump case is, there are not enough lawyers and courts to keep up - meaning this happens ALL THE TIME. I am more than OK with pursuing Trump, but don't single him out, pursue all of them when it happens.
Banks lend money to get it paid back with interest. The bank lent to Trump and Trump paid them back. He met the terms of the contract.
As a violation of whatever goes, this is not much different to rounding down instead of rounding up on your tax returns. Everybody does that - you are understating your income by doing so - that is cheating too... should everyone be audited, fined/arrested for that crime too?

That's ridiculous; however, blatant partisan politics should not be involved, ever. That's all this is, it's all it's been since the day the man was elected.

So by your logic it will never be time to go after trump since not everyone gets caught. Doesn't actually seem like you are more than okay with it.

Nope.
Never said anything even remotely close to that, and you owe me an apology for misstating my comments.
I am willing to bet there have been numerous cases of actual financial fraud, where somebody was actually defrauded out of actual money, that have been pushed to the back burner to free up resources for a political hatchet job.
Hell yes, financial crimes should be punished, but they should be prioritized based on the amount of money stolen from the victim, not the political identity of the alleged wrongdoer. On that basis, this case should be very firmly at the back of the queue, or not in the queue at all.
The left is big for not prosecuting victimless crimes. As a libertarian, so am I. These acts are clearly victimless. It’s whether they are crimes at all that’s questionable.

Nobody from the banks filed charges.. None of the partners filed charges.. One exec from Duetsche Bank apparently claimed that loaning Trump money could've been an issue, but they loaned him the money, were paid with interest early...
Trump allegedly has a letter/documentation from that same bank, thanking him for paying off his multimillion dollar loans.
So again, if the bank gave him the money, got paid, along with the partners, what's the issue?
How many criminals are running loose in NY while Trump is being prosecuted?
