Yall are so quickly to judge and leave this team to dry. It's college football give them a break, we got great talent across the board, they will figure it out.

This is laughable. We do NOT have “great” talent across the board. If that is true, then it is an indictment of the coaching staff, and then, why are we 18-28 in our last 46 games. Please take off the rose colored glasses and look again.

Fact is we are a MAC team. Probably a slightly above average MAC team. The problem is we’ve been telling ourselves that this is more than that. I still think we go 5-3 in conference and 7-5 on n the year, but the Huskies are basically just CMU or Ball State at this point.

7-5 with a 5-3 conference record indicates we beat either Nebraska or Tulsa. While I agree, a 5-3 conference is probably achievable, I'm curious if you think it's Tulsa or Nebraska we will beat.

I'm in this boat, but I see 8 wins still. Our defense is finally a defense. The offense will figure out either how to run the ball or throw it, so we will score more. History shows for NIU the line always gets better as the season goes on, so my guess is the run game picks up fast once we hit conference.

We beat Tulsa and I think we are in the Nebraska game the entire game with it being close. Who ever turns it over more loses that game. Nebraska is not good.

I think a lot of people are fooling themselves that this team has any shot at Nebraska. The Huskers are pissed of at their 0-2 start and they will take it out on our Huskies big time on Saturday to make a statement. This is going to be on of those 66-3 outings against a P5 that we will want to forget even more than the SIU embarrassment last weekend.

I think every 0-2 team is probably not happy about it but Nebraska has scored 24 points combined in two games. Highly unlikely they score as much as you think. This is probably a close loss with both teams scoring in 20-point range. I think NIU should also be mad that they lost yet another home game and this time to a 1-AA.

I posted on a different thread - Austin Peay lost to SIU by 26 and to #9 Tennessee by 17. Not saying SIU is THAT good but they could be better than we thought (even though most of us already thought it would be a close game against SIU).

I believe Nebraska is there to be had. They can not throw the ball at all so the game should stay close into the 4th. It's also a team still looking for their identity and maybe with some doubt.

Individually I would have NIU as a slight underdog in each game....but collectively I think they can steal one. Unless our O-line is as bad as they've looked....I just don't believe that(yet)

First Home game for new coach with much better talent that NIU has on the roster. He will have them ready for the game, and our coaches will devise new ways to push the ball up the middle with a No 1 back that is slow to the hole if one is even created. It will not be a pretty game in front of 80k Husker fans. Hope you are right, but any optimism right now is unwarranted from what I have seen the first two games.

If the O plays the way it has the last couple weeks, yeah, it's probably a 2-3 td loss. The hope is this O-line, which may not be great but is definitely better than what we have seen, gets it together Saturday. I don't think we will be able to run on Nebraska, but we need to do just enough to help the passing game. Whether that means some designed Lynch runs, draws, reverses, sweeps...whatever it takes.

What are the Vegas odds on Brown runs up the middle?

I would rather take a $10 flyer on a brown sweep play outside the tackle. I figure 100 to 1 odds. Much better return. On your bet, you place $10 and get $10.10 return.

My preseason prediction was 5-7. I’ll stick with it (although I think 5 wins is on the high end).

I’m sick and tired of Hammock saying we need to play complimentary football. Can we just play winning football for once?

Hey Hammock! We will give you a compliment when you start beating FCS teams.
