VP maybe?
he would be my choice in a nano ... but I'm not trying to become #groverII ...

That is part of the problem... most people can't do it eloquently. He didn't attack the person, or try to say they were filth or groomers or pedos. He explained his views calmly, and rationally. The more I see of him the more I really like him.
I say most _can_ but they don't' do it, because they know the "Squeaky wheel" gets to be on a viral video.

I think he could.
To Tanq's point... but also to the above.... I tend to agree with others that his 'I will be helpful to this country in any way I can' is his hedge... he just (smartly) puts it first so that he doesn't appear to be already thinking that he can't/won't win... because the reality is (I think) that Trump is either the nominee or he splits the party... If the nominee is someone Trump (or his people) don't like then the party will lose, no matter whom is selected or whom they run against.... Trump and his minions will see to it. If it is someone he really can't say bad things about without looking bad... he will actually (again, imo) push enough moderates to him (or disaffected democrats) to overcome that rift. Some dems may even vote FOR him over Biden or Kamala just because Trump is ugly to/about him (if he is and Vivek doesn't push back as hard).
Vivek can be the sort of guy to unite the party... because he (it seems) can take issue with Trump without villainizing him... and support him without endorsing everything he says or does... as he did very smartly in the exchange in the OP. I've seen him do this a couple times ftr, and each time the speaker seems to 'not agree' with him, but find no real argument with him either.... They feel heard, not hurt.
RE: Pretty interesting episode with Vivek at the Iowa State Fair
new post rather than an ETA...
the guy is impressive but I feel like he has a few positions that can be attacked... and will be... He doesn't need this position, which is why he says what he says... but I think the possibility of VP with someone he thinks he can do good things with and then becoming President one way or another before 45 can't be ignored. If he doesn't take the job (again, assuming he can work with whomever gets the nod) after saying 'any way he can' he will be labeled a hypocrite.... or having too big an ego

Eagleeyed, how many times have you heard a politico state that if he was offered the VP job he wouldn't take it when asked during the months proceeding a primary? If I remember correctly every candidate has said that. The reason in my mind is because they don't want to lose any primary voters. If there was one who would tell everyone that he would take the VP if offered then his chances of winning the primary would vanish. Why would someone vote for someone who tells everyone that he wants to become VP and not someone else? They'd feel like they were throwing away their vote for a VP. Or no?

They usually give an answer of I'm not concentrating on it right now. Or don't answer. For example when Ron DeSantis was asked during the debates for Governer if he was going to run for president he just refused to answer the question. He didn't lie and say he wasn't going to do it. Even though many of the so called analysts after the debate said that was a bad decision and would make him lose votes.
If you say you aren't going to do something don't do it. If you say you are going to do something do it. It's that simple. I don't like liars. But, in this day and age somehow even that is a controversial statement.
Of course he may not be lying. If he doesn't take VP and he doesn't really flip flop his stances then he holds up as a man of his word in my eyes, which is a rare thing and boosts a man up in my eyes, especially in these days. People that say things and actually do them are rare and worth being around.

I'd say almost all of them won thanks to Trump and/or his endorsement of the person. Not because they were beloved. The anti-Trump vote is real in many areas of this country. He may be better off giving an endorsement to democrats in those areas if you want a Republican to be voted in.

I mean, I suppose.
We don't have anything to offer, want to maintain the status quo, and we're crooked, but we're not Trump. Vote for the Blue team!

The reason why most of us don't do it eloquently is because many of us disagree with Vivek on one point: He said, "I don't have a negative view of same-sex couples."
I disagree. I view same-sex couples similar to alcoholics, swingers, the obese, or people who engage in conspicuous consumption.
Yet there's no way to state that opinion without a large number of people hearing, "I dislike everyone in all of those groups." And thus it is more eloquent to have a different opinion, or even to tell a white lie about the lifestyle itself in order to avoid the misinterpretation.
