Guys got a great looking swing.

How’s our team looking for next season? Do you think we will improve upon last season? I don’t follow ODU baseball much (mostly ODU football and ODU basketball), but I may be following it more.

Right now it's too early to know what we really have. We gotta first see how the draft and undrafted free agent period goes to know exactly who we're losing. We have a good idea that Sam and Hunter are goners with how well they both played this season and how they performed on the Cape. But does someone take a chance on Jake Ticer's exceptional frame despite the injury shortened season? Does a team realize how good Kenny Levari is and take him? Who knows. We just gotta wait and see.

Then you gotta let the portal shake out which is just starting to really happen with the biggest names available. So it'll be at least a month or so until we know what we really have on the roster.

And then you have to see how it comes together. We don't know which freshman will come on strong and demand playing time from day 1. Finny will not hesitate to play a freshman right out of the gate.

I do like our freshman class and 2 of the JUCOs numbers jump right off the page. Stephen Meier looks like your everyday CF just based on his stats. He gets on base a lot and can swipe a bag whenever he feels like it. Maverick Stallings hit .328 and 15 bombs. He could give us the flexibility to move Alex Bouche to a position that fits his fielding skillset better. Moving him to first base would upgrade us defensively in a big way and allow us to have Stallings and Edwards up the middle.

But we're not really sure what Finny and the staff have in mind yet and this is why most wait until they see the squad in fall ball to set any expectations.

If Edwards hits anything like he did down the stretch….with his defense, hes gonna be a star.

He’s playing extremely well for the TomSox this summer.

Looks like Brandon Pond, a grad transfer pitcher from the University of Lynchburg is transferring to ODU. He has a really good K rate and ERA. Should be a good bullpen arm. University of Lynchburg won the D3 national championship in 2023.

Not sure when it'll be announced but we have a good OF transfer coming in from an ACC team. Will wait for the player to announce it first.

Gavin Abrams is officially transferring to ODU from Clemson. Good pickup for us. 2 years left I believe.

Mlb draft has started. Guess we'll find out soon who 100% will be gone and what prospects we end up not getting.

I haven't noticed any Monarchs get drafted in the first ten rounds. Have any of their incoming kids been drafted so far?

Fantastic news, John Holobetz will be pitching in the Cape Cod League now. He joins Sam Armstrong, Hunter Fitz-Gerald and Kenny Levari as Monarchs to play on the Cape this summer.

Also Jacob Gomez. Oddly, they all played on the same team. Levari got to pitch in one inning. But the first four are not playing anymore so Holobetz is by himself.

20 picks after the Cubs drafted Carter Trice

As usual there are some headscratching picks, but Tomas Frick, who is a catcher and led UNC in hitting (.322) lasting until late in the 15th round is the one that jumps out at me.
Usually catchers that can hit are a premium.

They certainly are. I hate uva but I'm a Red Sox fan so i love that we got Kyle Teel. Super steal at pick 14.
