RE: Group of 5 commissioner sends strong message to Power 5
"Power 5" is already outdated. We now have the "Power 2" followed by a mad scramble by the next three conferences to avoid falling any farther down to the dreaded (shudders) G5+ level.

If anyone honestly believes the PAC is on the same level as the Big 10 or SEC, you need to get your head examined. You may be concussed...

Give it a few years and the separation will get greater.

Recruiting to Clemson, Oregon and FSU has gotten tougher and will get tougher, recruit on the highest level. Only the cream of high school players will get recruited by the P2 and the status will be the draw.

The P2 will end up shuffling too. No way those money hungry people are happy having Vanderbilt and Northwestern instead of Washington and FSU.

Both are charter members, neither are going anywhere without a complete overhaul to the entire system.

Charter Members:

Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisiana State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Sewanee, Tennessee, Tulane and Vanderbilt. (Sewanee withdrew Dec. 13, 1940, Georgia Tech on June 1, 1964 and Tulane on June 1, 1966).

I watched a documentary about Sewanee recently, and it said something like "As a charter member, Sewanee has the option to return to the SEC"

But that doesn't make much sense.

Then Jax State needs to buy Sewanee and join the SEC.

Interesting turn though, from claiming you were part of the club just a few short years ago.

His hypocrisy noted he’s not wrong. Would you prefer he do what every commissioner we’ve had to sit in the corner with tail tucked, submissive, and be seen and not heard?

An equally effective strategy. He's not incorrect about his assessment of the landscape of college football.

I'll give you that he's doing what he can to gin up the troops.
