Super broke the news about 5g on West Campus. 5g is the latest and greatest and if implemented will replace what is apparently bad cell reception on West campus.

So EMU continues to make improvements, e.g., moved the HOF and now improved cell service.

The status of the Rynearson track is something no one talks about but should...

EMU had two players leave for the NFL and the other green and white team, MSU, had some stars leave for the transfer portal.

Going O/T but the Lions had a wild draft including two 1s, two 2s and a 3. And the 3rd rounder was thought of as a possible 1st rounder (albeit with an ACL).

Just a general comment: Aren't there still tons of MBB and CFB transfers out there in the portal awaiting a new home?

In talking with Alex, talk around the Football locker room is that there are solid plans in process for stadium improvements including the removal of the track. Nothing significant planned before the '23 season, though. Take that for what it's worth.

I understand budgets and which sports generate revenue, but if the track is removed from Rynearson, I hope the new track facilities are top notch. Historically, Rynearson has been where track championships have been won and football was played. Much hope and respect for the future of Football though.

That is a tough one for sure. Thanks for pointing it out KPJ. EMU is a T&F school.

Nope...won't even show the headline. I have a subscription to the Freep...can't justify doing the News, too.

I'll copy and paste the headline when I get to a PC.

Gist was students beat up shooter before the rampage.

Detroit News does a big story on Suzy Merchant.

Bottom line: she passed out and hit a tree at 40 MPH.

Then she retired and got treatment at Mayo and is treated with medication. Heart issue.

Last chance. May going once and then it is June...

Big stories, 5G to GG GA center. CFB playoff expansion. And maybe close to the hearts of those who have been around EMU for a while is the article on Suzie Merchant.

Suzie had a medical incident, passed out, and hit a tree at 40 MPH (when I was young that would have been almost sure death). Long story short: She has been treated at Mayo and is happily retired as a wife and mother.

Many of think the world of her. She and Sue Parks are among the best women's coaches in EMU history.
