To be fair, nearly all Americans back up US foreign policy at every turn, no matter corrupt it is, no matter how disadvantageous it is to the American people, no matter how much it sucks us dry.

The only quibbling seems to be over the absolute lowest level minutia of “which side did exactly what minor thing” on the basest level. Neither side has a leg to stand on in that regard because the people driving this destructive foreign policy hate us and see us as just another population to be manipulated for their gain.

It’s always “America is right” and every time it screws everything up and inadvertently kills millions of civilians, it was all the responsibility of the other party. And everyone swears of their side would have been in charge, that would have never happened…. And then about 20 years later, all sides then seem to agree what all the mistakes were, but continue to point the finger and never actually figure out how they were duped yet again. IE, the Iraq war. Both parties and most of the people were on board. Just like with Ukraine. Whatever war they are selling, we are buying. Every single time.

Meanwhile, our intelligence files are a free lending library that is open 24/7 and nobody in charge is able to make a dent in it because there aren’t enough people who serve actually bought in enough tho be trusted with access. Very indicative. Sadly, they start off bought in, which is why they signed up to serve. But once they see what a nasty business they are a part of, they turn.

War in Ukraine is going bad according to the leak for the “good guys”. They lied to you, me and American people although I and few others weren’t so gullible to believe BS propaganda. So did you want to be lied to?

So basically we have been at war with Russia, just not on a full scale war with massive troops.

Hmmm. I’d say that was true for about 8 or 9 months after the 9/11 attacks. And since then, US foreign policy has been just as divided and partisan as abortion or taxes or Supreme Court nominations or anything else.

Public opinion — both within Congress and around the nation — towards Ukraine in 2022/2023 is nowhere close to what is was towards Iraq in 2002/2003. That is just an incredibly weird comparison.

Agreed. Although this leak that Teixiera is accused of — that may or may not be a valid example of what you’re describing. There are a lot of strange/inconsistent details here and we need to see what actually happened.

Sounds like you listen to NYT and WaPo.

There is nothing the government has said that has lead me to believe Ukraine can take back all the territory. Everyone has said the Ukrainians are losing a lot of men, even the Ukraine government, just that the Russians are losing more. But the fact is that the Ukrainians ARE winning. Russians have probably lost half the territory they took in the first couple months of the war. The government's assessments have still lead me to believe the most likely result is a stalemate at some point. People in government HAVE said that before. And nobody has ever implied Ukraine can actually "beat" Russia. At best they drive them out of Ukrainian territory and leave them tired of war. The Russians quit in Afghanistan without even being driven out. We quit in Afghanistan and Vietnam and we won nearly every engagement in those wars. But we got tired of the endless war.
