Is the Easter Bunny non-binary
Again, looking at the fascination with gender assignment and identity on this board it got me to thinking.., I've never been told whether the Easter Bunny was a male or female or some composite or something completely different. Anyway, I decided to look it up and there's no consensus. It seems that the Easter Bunny is whatever the Easter Bunny is without any predetermined assignments by bunny culture. In other words the Easter Bunny decides it's own identity and isn't predetermined by any bunny prejudices about who the Easter Bunny is or ought to be. In short, the Easter Bunny decides for itself who and what it is. Would that be a fair assessment?

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my inquiry but during my quest for an answer this is the only thing I found.

RE: Is the Easter Bunny non-binary
It is a completely irrelevant question, as the Easter Bunny is not a sexual character. It is not rubbing its crotch on other bunnies or kids, parading around in suggestive outfits, nor speaking of things not appropriate for children. Nor does it demand to read books to my young children. Kind of what all things related to our kids should be. Innocent until ready to deal with the issues with the brain capacity to do so. And that age is not the same one as a third-grader.

You really are a sick individual. I hope they don't allow children around you.

Look, we already have a character in the other Easter Bunny thread who seems to have established that the Easter bunny is areligious and possibly even agnostic. But let's not take this too far. The Easter bunny is a sign of fertility just like the Easter egg. A sign of things coming alive again during Spring. I can handle even an atheist bunny but one that doesn't reproduce? No we don't have to show the rabbit copulating on a float down main Street. But what's the whole point of the rabbit symbol if not fertility?

I think the answer you are looking for might be found in the origins of the Easter mythology. For this reason I say female, after the (mesopotamian?) goddess Ishtar.

I think that's wrong for a couple of reasons. The name you were assigned at birth (by others)... which has nothing to do with how you identify later. Second, the English name 'Peter Cottontail' came after the origin of the hare as a fertility symbol. Even today the fertility hare has been assigned different names in different cultures. In fact I did a little research and in addition to its Mesopotamian origins there seems to be some Celtic origins where the hare was thought to have the power of shapeshifting into human form. I won't make much of the shapeshifting thing but it is something to think about when considering this topic.

You have it backwards. "How you identify later" is simply a mental illness. It is irrelevant to your physical characteristics.
