Glad to hear Shields looked good in practice. The thing that concerns me with Wilson is he was a backup at the FCS level. I think he was brought in to help bring the other QBs up to speed on the new OC's scheme and help set the tone for work ethic and expectations. Almost like another QB coach who can be with the guys when the actual coaches can't. But that's just a guess.

Let say this agin…there was this here fella named Terry Bradshadow or Braishaw or sumpin like that. He don won 4 Soup Bowls back in de 70s. When he was in de college arena he was at a skool in way we now kno as FCS. His firstest 2 years he just could not get past the guy ahead of’n him. He narey could’n get on de field. Then dat guy heada him quit football to go make duck calls, you might aheard of him he is de Duck Commander. Anywho, dat dere Terry fella got a chance to start at dat FCS level for 2 years. And even made it all the wayin to be NFL and de Hall of Fame. Land sakes an FCS QB made it to the NFL HOF. Dat is impossible right?

Wilson was stuck behind an All-American QB. Folllowed his coach. No one on here knows his abilities. I’m not saying he is the next Terry Bradshaw. But give the kid a freaking chance before you label him a throw away.

STOP this crap....one out of 1000's does not mean we have found the 1. Hopeful yes that he is a player but HIGHLY unlikely !

RE: Spring Practice
This stuff in nonsense. 1 out of 1000 QBs work out in the NcAA (rough estimate). Wilson may or may not be good but he was rated as highly as other FBS QBs. Just bc he went To FCS doesnt mean he cannot play.

I know our OC obviously targeted him. I doubt it bc he wanted a friend on the roster. He has talent….live practice is a different animal

I even said he is probably not the next Bradshaw. But stop your crap that only P5 caliber QBs are our only hope.

I’m sorry the truth causes you butthurt. Maybe you should stick to basketball.

Are any of you hearing even the slightest bit of news about how Spring ball is going? Say what you will about Wilder but he was always willing to get on camera and talk...even if it was usual Coach speak. RR has his own style, which is totally fine but dang...out of sight...out of mind...

It’s like crickets. Can’t be good, because if it was, you'd think they’d be dying to talk about it. This is a big part of the “hype” for the coming year and if used properly, spring practice should move some season tickets too. Even Minium has only done one article. I was thinking we’d have an article by him every couple days.

Really?!? We have big changeover in players. New offense. All you guys want information when many have so much to learn. “We’ll our left guards aren’t catching to our new blocking schemes…” please tell me what I sights we’ve gotten from published comments on all previous spring games? Stop playing the part of chicken little.

This is almost as bad as the poster who demands the AD give regular updates on the employment status of contracted employees.

He was on Donnelly yesterday. I haven’t listened to it yet but that’s worth checking out.

You don't think some regular reporting on spring practice is something fans should expect? Something that would benefit the program and the school? We've had it in the past. Other schools do it. Why should we be so different now? The changeover in players makes it all the more interesting. Let us know who of the new guys is making noise. Tell us how things are going with the new OC. Whats the transfer QB looking like? Is the D-line looking bigger? Stronger? Maybe some comments from the new guys, or comments from the vets about the new additions/coaches. Even if its not super important information, it keeps fans and donors engaged, helps build excitement, keeps the program top of mind and hopefully sells some tickets. One of the main benefits of a school's athletic program is branding. Surely our folks know that. So there must be some reason they aren't pushing news and info out to the public.

Few things here. I agree we need more publicity.

But, the interest in spring practice by our fans/readers is very minimal. If there was interest, it would be covered more.

Besides that, you are going to hear the same thing you hear every spring.

Players fare fighting hard. Inspired to work hard to overcome last years records. The players are bigger and stronger. The defense is ahead of the offense this early in camp. yada yada

This was a great interview. This is what Im talking about. This type of info could be distributed in articles, social media etc. Its valuable content with an audience clamoring for it.

Yes. It doesnt seem good. Its bad enough hearing the QBs havent separated themselves from one another. More of the same. I hope they can land an impactful transfer qb because I am very worried with the current roster construction.

RE: Spring Practice
Its this quote that worried me. "“I’m sure we’ll announce it (who the starter is) before our first game at some point,” he said. “I don’t really have a timetable set for it. When somebody grabs it, then we will. If somebody were to grab it here at the end of spring, then we would name it."

If he is open to naming someone in the spring, that tells me recruiting a top transfer QB via the portal is not a priority and he plans to go with the guys already on the roster.

I wouldn't interpret it that way at all.
Even if we recruited a 5 star through the portal, he still has to put on the pads and practice. Can you say Clark?
I am very satisfied with that quote.
