MHver tweeted last night that the Big 12 is looking to add Gonzaga and Villanova as basketball members. As a Villanova fan that prospect makes my stomach churn.

Does anyone know anything about his reputation?

Why would Villanova do that though? It doesn't benefit them whatsoever.

We can add Scheer to the list with this guy as well. All of his reports are bunk since the other three of the 4c schools keep denying that they are not interested in the Big 12.

He does seem to be all over the place, and I used to really not pay much attention to what he says, but.....

He seemed to have nailed the Big 12 extension. His tweet about that was out of nowhere and then it happened. It's possible that rumor came out someplace else, but I didn't see it.

Since then he has been back to throwing out bulk rumors so even if something hits, I'm not sure if I would have any real confidence he has inside information.

I haven't seen the BE and particularly Villanova rumors elsewhere, so I guess we'll see if he hits on that.

He has zero credibility. Some people believe him only because he throws so much at the wall that 1 out of every 200 things sticks.

While Villanova may seem wild, so was Gonzaga.

While not everything he posts has come about, my impression is that behind the scene impressions and speculations can go either way. This is essentially what he posts, no photos of signed documents or proposals. Just hearsays. Imagine someone like a secretary passing on snippets overheard.
Gist is that some pac programs are having a hard time with the media offer and are contemplating a move to the big12. This is the same as others have stated.

I think you are unfair to Jason Scheer because you dislike what he is saying. I don't think he is like MHVER3 at all. He does not throw out a bunch of rumors. The only claims he ever really makes are specific to Arizona, and I'm not really aware of anything proven false yet.

I think Arizona has been quiet in all this and yeah some of the other 4C schools have denied interest in the B12, but we keep seeing it pop up from national reporters. It is possible the schools are just saying that while still having back-channel discussions with the Big 12.

When was the last on-the-record public statement of such by any of those three's ADs or presidents? {Other folk don't count.} Links to such on major-media sites?

If not within the most recent 24 hours, any such statements would seem moot. Things are moving fast.

He's entertaining and he doesn't take himself too seriously. He's just a rumor consolidator.

if you throw scenarios out there left and right and portray it as gospel.. and one of the 15k happens, then yes you can consider him legit lol

BTW I know the guy frequents this board to get a lot of his scenarios/predictions

Which is why I like this board so much when it comes to realignment news, scenarios and what ifs

Guys like MHver and Greeg Fluguar just throw a bunch of sh!t at the wall and see what sticks. I have no doubt they actual sourced information from time to time but their sources are likely boosters and not coaches, ADs, or presidents.
