The email sent this morning plus various social media posts indicate Ben is one of those soon-to-be-graduating students being honored today. He’s been listed as a Junior all year. Anyone have any additional info?

Hope to see our Seniors start today and Ayesa to light it up again this afternoon. Appeared that Ayesa had his family at the game Thursday. Understand both Dorsey and Collier out for season due to injury.

As others have noted, Wight has played vastly better when he is on the court without Collier

Wight was also considered a Senior at the preseason banquet. He was redshirted so this is his senior year with 2 years of eligibility left

The success of our team is fully in the hands of our seniors for today and in the tournament. Our seniors deserve our support as the have worked exceptionally hard and endured much.

RE: MBB vs Monmouth
It will get a bit simpler when the Covid year players age out of the system but I don’t it will ever be a straightforward as it was in the day. We’ll never know who is returning until the rosters are finalized in the fall.

In Wright’s case the key data points are graduated (I assume he has and while that’s not necessary now for a “painless” transfer it still matters to some - see Hurts, Jalen), 2 years of eligibility and what opportunities/needs does he have.

If he wants to continue playing college ball, I’m not sure what demand there will be for him. To this untrained eye, I don’t think he progressed as much as expected this year and he takes far too many shots from below a standing position(?). OTOH, he might well benefit from going to a school which has the coaching to develop post players.

Long-winded way of saying, who knows?

If Ben sees a MBA or law degree in his future then he can keep his scholarship for a top notch education for two years. A huge opportunity for him and our school plus whoever is coaching for the next two years.

I was shocked to see him shown as a senior. I have been increasingly impressed with his moves under the basket. Hopefully we can hold him another 2 years. Maybe he’s into Marine Science!

That seems very light to me for this one. But I would take a one point win.

Disappointing about Dorsey and Collier. I was in the car heading to the game on Thursday night and heard part of the pregame show. Jay asked Dane about the status of the two players and Dane’s comment was something like “day by day” and “holding out hope” regarding their availability before season’s end. Noticed that Dorsey was in a boot on Thursday night but saw nothing obviously wrong with Collier.

I don't know what the actual rules are surrounding injury reporting but it sure is annoying to get the BS as a fan. "Day to day" injuries don't keep players out for a month.

Guess it's another thing you gotta donate thousands a year to know...

Monmouth definitely looking to be the aggressor today. Guess they saw us against the press last game.

No baskets for the past 3:15, with 4 turnovers. Monmouth on a 7-0 run.

This game is very slopppy and the refs are calling a very inconsistent game. I hope we can get to 50 points today somehow. Monmouth can't shoot at all. I haven't seen a free throw miss the rim and hit the backboard in a really long time.

we are shooting 66%, but 8 turnovers is keeping this thing close.

Up by 8 at one point but an ugly end to the half.[/align]

Over the last 3:30, Monmouth went 4-5, while we went 1 for 6, making this a much closer game than it should be. We are actually lucky not to be down 1, going into the Half.

Over the last 3:30, the two teams put up 10 shots and missed all 10. Brutal.
