Not that the NIT is the goal, but if UT loses one more time and we run the table, the #1 seed of the conf tourney gets an auto NIT bid if they don't win NCAA bid.
Thanks for sharing perspective. Interested to hear thoughts about calling the dogs off against Zippy. Fans wouldn't like it, players wouldn't either (if had to guess), but I would have perhaps a half played. Also with full game for OU as well.
Again this is with loading up for conference tourney
Long story short, find ways to rest players last few games, I could discuss over nuisances of how and when to rest, but just sense rest could help out, for last minute push
These are 19-20 yr old kids, They get 5 full days off before the tournament starts. I can guarantee nobody is resting players if the game is competitive. We need to get back the #1 seed.
Point is still valid, but college basketball teams are not mostly 19-20 year olds right now with all the 5th and 6th year guys around. Thomas for example was in the class of 2017 in HS. So he's probably 23 now.
Overuse injuries are not age specific. Saying that, we still need that #1 seed. Right now that has to be our goal.

To get the #1 seed they have to win out and hope Toledo loses one, and their only game in which that can happen is their finale at Ball State.

If college teams start resting players (giving up the regular season) thinking that will significantly help them to win 3 games in three days I will never watch a regular season sporting event again. They all just become exhibition games.

Aren’t they age related by definition? You have to play a little while to overuse don’t you. Might be a different age for each player but you can’t be born with an overuse injury. Of course I used to think the world was round until Kyrie set me straight.

100%
That is a nice, logical response, burden.
