The arena will be rocking no doubt. The last 3 games I was at that stick out as really rocking were Tennessee, Ohio State, and the Memphis game Fick walked out at halftime (just a great game in general. Had nothing to do with Fick being there).

Wes outside Xavier has not had much of a fully packed house with fans going crazy and still often praises the atmosphere. I think he is going to love the energy the fans will bring and I’m not sure he realizes or has a full understanding of how great it can get.
The TV schedule murdered our home games this year too. The two main conference home games were on January Sundays against significant Bengal games. I haven't seen a ton of B12 Sunday games so that should help next year. That should help in addition to the overall B12 bump

Yep, it still blows my mind that for some fans the X game is the pinnacle of the season; especially puzzling when UC had a conference game with #1 Houston weeks later. But among the many reasons to be thankful to move on from the AAC is that a December pre-conference home game against X should pale in comparison with just about any Big 12 opponent that comes calling.

I go back a few decades with UC and the rivalry game of interest was always Louisville. I viewed games with X, Temple, or Dayton as interesting but not real consequential as none of those teams had a national championship profile.

But the Owls have some WTF losses this year and in prior years. They are a tough team to predict but generally they have underachieved during their time in the AAC. It’s too bad as they are a major university and under the right circumstances could be a consistently strong top 25-30 team.

I agree and Temple's woes since formation of the AAC are almost emblematic of the whole conference. When the old Big East dissolved none of us were excited about our future home but most believed the American would be darned good basketball with UCONN, Cincy, Temple, and Memphis as a top tier. With Mick, UC often dominated the conference race but did little in March. Houston has emerged but most would say the AAC is a one trick pony.

We all know what the Big 12 means to our program yet I believe some underestimate the energy that will return to 5th/3rd when Baylor, Kansas, or West Virginia roll into town and the remainder of the conference games will be incredibly competitive too. Having played in the ACC, I'm sure Wes is more than ready to embrace that experience with games in the spotlight almost every night.

Agreed.

The Houston game this year had a great crowd. I've been surprised at how good the crowds have been this season. Other schools without legit tourney hopes have had huge attendance issues.

Even Wes has said it in interviews. This is a fanbase that is really passionate about their team. I'm obviously biased but when we get to where we're supposed to be as a program i don't think you'll find a more difficult home court advantage than 5/3.

Chiming in. I love Nolley, and his D has improved so much. On TV you can see him really get in a defensive stance (used to stand too straight), and intensity on his face. Wes really has him buying in.

Wish he took another 2-3 shots/half, but that is not his personality. Wes needs to work on this next.

Last possession- This is not his strength. I really wish DDJ would have come and get the ball (hand off, but limited time) or off the ball screen to free him. If nothing else, Nolley should have tried to penetrate and put the pressure on the refs.

OT- I agree him posting is not his game, but his play on the block is improving every game.

Disappointed in the late game drought but we got the win.
