ECU game hurts that much more now...Memphis game would've been to avoid Houston to the final, now it's kind of meaningless unless Memphis drops a game they absolutely shouldn't.

That was the right call

Flop if I've ever seen one. Watch his eyes falling down to the ground looking at ref

It was all about position. Oquama had his back to the basket and was pushing his guy away. That's not a box out. That's a foul.

They were face to face fighting for position. Dude fell down and got the foul. No one way Oguama can push that guy down. He's a beast.

We'll take the tough win, but UC still needs to learn how to finish when they have the lead late in the game.

The end of regulation was a mess again. I don't understand why they wait so long to get something going and try to get a shot closer to the basket.

Our FT shooting was a BIG key to winning that game. 28-30 for 93% from the line.

MAW with 6 rebounds was big too.

Mark already laid this out. If we win next two including against Memphis we get the 3 seed if Memphis also loses to Houston.

If UC wins out and Memphis loses to Houston, UC is the 3 seed

My score app wasn't showing the March games left, just those remaining in February, was confused why the season ended that early and now it makes sense lol.

Wasn't going to jinx it but when Oguama hit two pretty smoothly, i was definitely grinning.

Drives me bonkers that Wes cannot draw up a legit effective play at the end of these games.

I waited until the game was over to post. You just never know with this team.

I'm not going beat the dead horses.

I'm not going to complain about blowing an 8 point lead in the last two minutes or a 5 point lead in the last mnute.

I'm not going to complain that up 3 in the last minute with the ball we have a totally incompetent possession only to then let Temple run down the court and can a wide open 3 to tie it.

I'm not going to complain about our last possession in regulation being nothing more than Nolley dribbling and then just chucking up a 3.

I'm not gonna do it.

I'm just gonna say dang, it was good to finally beat Temple.

Yep, pretty standard UC game. Had to listen to the second half on the radio and Terry Nelson was en fuego. He started the game with a full afro and ended with a Telly Savalas.

wow. End of the world with you. What team do you really root for? if UC was 25-0, you would still have a melt down every game. Learn to just watch a game.

Get an NIT bid and I’d say the season is a success.

If they cover DDJ who are you giving the ball to in order to score? Our roster just isn't good and hasn't been since Wes took over. If in a couple years it's still a failure then Wes has got to go because either he can't recruit, can't coach, or both. So far the recruiting has been OK.

There’s a very real chance Uc could play Wichita State in the 4/5 game if UC can’t get to the 3. Wichita holds the head to head tiebreaker over Temple so if they finish with the same record Wichita would get the 5.

They start playing tight and tentative around the 3:00 mark of every game, as if playing not to lose instead of playing to win. I put that on the coach. It’s up to him to cajole his players to focus on the game plan, and keep executing right until the buzzer.

RE: Game Day Thread: Temple at Cincy
The final few minutes of regulation were hard to watch. On the whole though, I thought it was a competitive, well played game by both teams. Skillings finally showed what we'd been hoping for on offense. I hope he can replicate it the next few games as he'll be needed now, and even more next year. Vik didn't have his sea legs yet and it showed but his second half was vitally important to the cause.

I saw some consistency, toughness, and defense from UC last night that were encouraging. Depending upon how quickly Vik gets back to his high level of play from before his injury, this team could be interesting to watch in Fort Worth. If they advance down there, they'll have a chance to upset Houston. Possible, but it would require a nearly perfect game.

After the ugly loss to osu in Maui, I would never have predicted a 20 win season and it's now within reach.

RE: Game Day Thread: Temple at Cincy
My preseason/early season expectations for a successful growth season were 20 or more wins and and NIT bid. Of course injuries along the way played a crucial role but I’ll give both players and coaches credit for the adjustments that have been made as they should be when these things occur. They are showing a lot of Bearcat toughness imo the last two games.

I’ve rehashed the losses or way we lost enough so my two main concerns are at the moment are inconsistency and blowing large leads. Still, 20 or more win season is still in play and so is NIT.

I would have expected we would have beat ECU and Tulane and loss to UCF and Temple but hey that’s why you play the games.

Finish the season strong and they’ll hit my expectations with how the season went and overcame at a lot to hit those personal targets of mine.

It’s clear players buy into this coaching staff. I do think improvements will be made in that area too as Wes gets seasoned to high level basketball coaching and as many on this board point out the analytics are undeniable in how drastically this team has improved over last.

The last two games I was getting the sense we would lose and the season would end in another collapse but I’m back on the train! Finish the season strong Bearcats! Let’s go!

Who knows, maybe some luck goes our way in the conference tourney and all the UC constant doomsdayers can pipe it for a few months. Shots fired. If it ends poorly I’ll be back to excited for new talent influx coming in next year but more hopeful than confident just like I was for UCF and Temple games.
