I am personally really excited for the match up in Charlotte as I live in Greenville, SC and can finally see them again!

RE: Memphis Football Schedule 2023
Won't argue the relative strength or weakness of this schedule, although I will comment again that there is little in this schedule to encourage increased attendance avg in terms of opponents among those who are not regular attending Memphis fans. One big concern is playing Temple so late in the schedule at Philadelphia - it could be very cold (attended our night game there years back with temps in the low teens) & I'm guessing our guys would prefer to be playing in warmer conditions late in the season.

Agreed. And Missouri being a neutral game really hurts imo. Would have been a nice addition to the home schedule. I am personally excited to see the new teams come in, but we really need to schedule more exciting games OOC. I know not everyone feels the same as I do.

Let’s pray for global warming in Philly in November. I expect it will be low scoring anyway. Seems to be that way no matter what. Some of the other teams scheduled more interesting matchups and we need to be out there doing the same.

RE: Memphis Football Schedule 2023
I am just glad they gave us Navy week 3 instead of making that our bye week. As is now we get the bye a couple weeks later & before we play our final 7 conference games, so bodes we’ll to have a week off & focus on finishing season with all conference goals still achievable.

I am not going to cry/complain/ take cheap shots at our new members. There is nothing we could do to prevent the 3 teams leaving from going, so no point in trying to compare to something that isn’t possible.

That said, I am looking fwd to having another road opponent that is an easy drive to in UAB.

RE: Memphis Football Schedule 2023
Not a terrible schedule, IMO. Boise St. is a plus. Losing the Missouri home game to St. Louis hurts, but it is the best we could expect once they wanted out.

I am not a fan of Friday night games in general (make that weeknight games), but I know we need the national exposure on ESPN, so ok. I would love to go to St. Louis, but 'my wheel chair does not travel well (motorized 350 lb'er).

GTG!

Fortunately, Charlotte is upgrading and adding onto their stadium in the next few years. It was built to be expandable to 40,000. Currently seats 15,000 but announced last year to double it. Do not know the expected timetable however.

Honestly I can see anything from 5-7 to 8-4, and no where in that total range is "dominating G-5" or winning the AAC.

We get a Labor Day weekend home game, but it isn't very appealing.

Then we miss the Columbus Day three-day weekend October 7th to 9th.

Then the Veteran's Day three-day weekend is an away game in Charlotte.

Then the long Thanksgiving weekend is another away game.

Another year where I can't take advantage of my Federal holidays to make for easy travel to a home game. I am beginning to believe this is their scheduling preference.

Not thrilled about playing Navy on a short week (Thursday). Unless their scheme changes with new coach, it is a tough team to prep for on a short week. Glad it's at home.

But not as much of an increase that UH, UCF, & Cincy are likely about to see, now that they are mid to back of pack of list of schools ESPN has to chose from for their limited shared B12 package instead of the being the leading choices in the AAC. I don’t believe B12 has many more (if any more) dedicated TV slots than AAC. AAC typically has at least 3 cable slots each week (weekday on ESPN/ESPN2) & 2 on Saturday normally between (ESPN2 & ESPNU).

But yes I guess since we are now sharing those 6 slots with 13 other teams instead of 11, we may see an increase by a game, but likely still have over half our games on an ESPN cable station. Given the 3 Thur/Fri games on our schedule ESPN has already out of the gate basically guaranteed half of our conference games to be on tv.

It's not that bad up here in late November...it's Philly, not Buffalo.
