I am not going to cry/complain/ take cheap shots at our new members. There is nothing we could do to prevent the 3 teams leaving from going, so no point in trying to compare to something that isn’t possible.
That said, I am looking fwd to having another road opponent that is an easy drive to in UAB.
Not thrilled about playing Navy on a short week (Thursday). Unless their scheme changes with new coach, it is a tough team to prep for on a short week. Glad it's at home.
Navy was our only conference opponent that didn’t have an out of conference game scheduled week 3. Not thrilled about short week, but to me it still beats having your bye week 3.

Agreed. And Missouri being a neutral game really hurts imo. Would have been a nice addition to the home schedule. I am personally excited to see the new teams come in, but we really need to schedule more exciting games OOC. I know not everyone feels the same as I do.
Let’s pray for global warming in Philly in November. I expect it will be low scoring anyway. Seems to be that way no matter what. Some of the other teams scheduled more interesting matchups and we need to be out there doing the same.
It's not that bad up here in late November...it's Philly, not Buffalo.
Low teens is not comfortable for an outdoor night game IMO & it did seem to affect our play several years back in Philly but I suppose it could be 50 next time too. WOULD STILL RATHER PLAY Temple early when playing in Philadelphia.

RE: Memphis Football Schedule 2023
I haven't checked every schedule thus far because we added more teams in the AAC. However, UTSA has the easiest schedule. The only challenging game for them is at Tulane on the last weekend of the regular season. Another team that should have an easy schedule is SMU. SMU's only "difficult" game is at Memphis in late November, which know who if the Tigers would be playing for anything at that point.
Silverfield needs to win 3 of the 4 between Missouri, Boise State, Tulane, and UAB. A bye week splits the two.
Can't win the American in October, but you can lose the chance to play for the conference title.

I have a sister that has lived in Philly for many years. She said the weather is surprisingly like Memphis most of the the time.

We should have either UT, Arkansas, old Mississippi, or Mississippi State on the schedule every year. Plus one more big school.

Yeah, that could easily be B12 leftovers crying about replacing Texas or Oklahoma with Memphis had we been invited. Those new schools are excited to be playing us instead of whoever they left behind. I am happy for UAB since it was not long ago that their program was shut down for 2 years.

You are easily at your funniest when you lie. You will lie about anything without a care in the world when you have an idea in your head about something being bad. So now everything about the program, the admin, the coach, the conference...everything is bad. So you will tell lies to make things look as bad as possible; just like you constantly lied about the admin being happy with 6-6, with that being acceptable.
In our history, we have played at Temple twice in November.
November 7, 2014, low temp during game 60F
November 21, 2015, low temp during game 42F
Quote:One big concern is playing Temple so late in the schedule at Philadelphia - it could be very cold (attended our night game there years back with temps in the low teens)
So which of those games did you attend with the temperatures in the teens? The game in 2014 when it was 60F or milder the entire game, or the 2015 game where it was 42F or milder the entire game?
What a clown.

We certainly have a shot in all of them.
Completely agree, we should be favored in 10 of those games, a close line against Tulane and an underdog against Mizzou.
No excuses this season, time to win & win big.

I have this vision of Steve Martin stumbling down the street mumbling, "All I need are these six wins. All I need are these six wins and a bowl game. All I need is these six wins, a bowl game, and a contract extension..."

- The removations will NEVER happen
- The school will pay for all of it, not a single penny from the government
- They are only fixing one side of the stadium, the other side will stay exactly the same
- The renovations will take years and years
- The renovations will go over 3X over budget
- The renovations will never happen
- The UT graduate is bluffing about giving us the money
How does this new, completely plausible, completely likely vision, fit in with all of your other completely plausible, completely likely visions?

That stretch with Missouri, Boise and Tulane will define our season. We should beat the others no question. If we lose to one of the others then CRS should be crossing his fingers.......again.

I think we can beat Boise. It's hard to say how good Tulane will be. The Mizzou game is an uphill battle, but I sure would like to stick it to them.
