Not that they don't have the money. There are quite a few multi-millionaire people/companies with Cincy ties that could donate, but don't.
The owners of Skyline and Graeter's have a lot of cash, but they don't have naming rights type wealth. There are only a hand full of folks around here with that kind of cheddar -- TQL, MedPace, Kroger, 5/3rd, Cintas.... the later three are giving most of their revenue for sports to professional sports, UK, UofL or Xavier.

Kroger gives lots of money to University of Dayton. Recently saw a UD game on TV with Kroger signage everywhere. Not aware of any involvement by Kroger with UC Athletics, but will stand corrected if other posters know about Kroger’s support of UC.

They don't need to...they have essentially the full market share here in Cincinnati. In places where they are throwing their name out there more, they have to contend with other regional grocers or superstores.
I will say this though, Kroger does have a fairly prominent place on the Nippert scoreboard.

They give some money to UC athletics, but they give a lot more elsewhere. Last year they paid enough to get Kroger on the scoreboard at Nippert and they started a "Cash for Sacks" bit where they donate a sack of groceries for every QB sack in a game or something. However-- when you consider they paid Louisville millions for naming rights to their baseball facilities and UK millions for their football stadium the contribution to UC seems miniscule.

Hopefully one of the benefits of the Big XII membership is that Kroger now sees a benefit in the reach and exposure in supporting home town athletics. With the expanded media reach of games being on more major outlets and theoretically reaching more eyes it makes contributions/donations/support dollars to UC a more profitable activity for Kroger.... and other potential donors
