To be fair, Anderson's first year at Utah State was incredible. This year, not so hot...

I don't think it's going to be a issue for a few more years and even when it does become one I hope that Bowden has some say in who his successor will be.

I think my main advice is don't hire Anderson....no matter what!

After Fedora left USM we almost hired Blake Anderson. It was between him and Ellis Johnson. I'm sure Anderson would have been better, but it's hard to know if we would be better or worse in the long term.

Either way congrats on the hire.

I really don't get the disdain stAte fans have for Anderson. The dude took them to 6 straight bowl games and now he's some sort of pariah because maybe he didn't recruit as hard as he should have
or been focused as much as he should have while his wife was dying of cancer. I guess it's 100% job first in Jonesboro.

I kind of get it. (Kind of) they did regress a bit under Anderson but if my partner was dying of cancer I can’t say I’d be 100% focused on my job. And it was probably good that Anderson left for a new fresh start.

RE: John Hartwell
We have won 5 games in two years. A lot of that is on Anderson and the mess he left. It was awful what has happened to his family but he had to know he was failing. If he couldn't do the job he should have taken off. As far as i know he got paid all that time. Besides he was failing before the tragedy. Once he started playing with his guys we started dropping back. That had nothing to do with his wife. Utah St will find out.

Worse off than 4-32 from 2012-2014? Following a run of 18 straight winning seasons with five conference titles?
