Pep band, cheerleaders and silverettes are easy. (and I don't mean easy literally)
If "some" college kids behind the basket is 20 or less--there's a chance.
Coit and Hunter making 3s--probably a 20-25% chance.
Crowd of 1,100-----only if you count and add EVERY January game---men and women.
We need more pep band and less DJ.
We also need to end the PA's new high pitched "threeeeeeeeeee" after a three pointer. It sounds high schoolish.
----and that "judgment free free throw" sponsorship needs review. There is not a chance that any free throw that Crump attempts is judgment free.
I'm plenty judgmental of their free throw efforts.

I guess I don't get why we would even entertain the idea that a crowd of 1k+ is even remotely realistic or to be expected for any home game.

Dogfan, great night four the Huskies. Huskies I believe are tied for fourt with Ball St. You could see this coming since the second half of the Toledo game. I expect there will be a big crowd Saturday by NIU basketball standards. I will guess 2,500. Ball State will have a nice visitors crowd also.

That’s a good question. He was walking around without his crutches last night and was shooting around during warmups on one leg. It’s hard to read anything into that, but very little info is coming out on it. If you watch their road games, the other teams announcers are saying that he will not play that night without any mention of him being out fur the year.
I know you can walk around with an ACL injury but he was on crutches before the previous home games and he wasn’t last night. I’m wondering if he had any procedure done on it.

I like the arena so much better with the upper seats out. Me personally I’d have the end zone seats out behind the students also. It gives the impression of big time arena and event even if the seats go empty still looks better than pushed in.

I want to thank NIU for improving the lighting at the convo-center! Was at the game last night and it was a very nice atmosphere. All around pleasant experience and eyes did not hurt at all....THANK YOU!! Should have been done many years ago....

Probably will have a solid 2k on Saturday.
Sadly weather looks terrible Saturday with several inches of snow. Probably will have a large impact on the walk up crowd, me included.

RE: MAC Tourney- Men's Hoops
Hopefully the forecast changes.
I was looking at the upcoming schedule and it appears that the Huskies have caught a break this year. With an 18 game MAC schedule, there are four teams that each team only plays once. For NIU it is Kent State, Akron, Toledo and Bowling Green. The current top 3 teams and another that looks pretty strong in Bowling Green.
Also I heard that the Kent State broadcasters mentioned last night that NIU is holding out hope that Williams can return this year. If true, that could be a big boost late in the season.

I think the heavier snow is for after 8pm Saturday.
That being said….Great seats available at just $10 each. Add $5 process per order. Easy download so no wait at Will Call. Anything close to 2K will almost feel like a sell-out at the Chick Evans. I kid.
I’m booked.

I'm no expert but I have a base level of sport injury/recovery knowledge so...with very little actual authority on the subject, I'd like to chime in.
To me, it sounds like he probably didn't have surgery, and it could have been a much less severe tear in the ligament (more like a typical sprained ankle vs a complete tear of the ACL). It'd still be a long recovery, although it'd be more like weeks vs months (upwards of 10 or more months). Who knows. Maybe he did have surgery and walking on it is part of the recovery but that seems a bit quick. Usually, with an ACL repair, there's an issue with range of motion that needs to be rehabilitated and while you can put weight on it, the knee isn't able to fully move (bend, flex, extend, etc.).
So, I guess it's encouraging but he's still probably a month away from any kind of game action.
