UNT will start the season at the Buzz Classic, hosted by Georgia Tech. UConn is also participating in the opening weekend event. UNT's first game will be Friday morning at 8 am central on ESPN+.

UNT finished the day 2-0 after beating the University of Chicago Illinois 5-0 and Saint Francis 8-0. The Mean Green will face UConn today at 9:30am and Georgia Tech at 5pm. Hopefully we will be celebrating wins tonight.

Final after 6 Innings

UNT faces Georgia Tech at 5pm.

Louisiana Tech shut out SE Missouri 4-0 to continue the nation's 5th longest home winning streak.

The Georgia Tech game was cancelled due to weather, but we are still scheduled to play them tomorrow morning at 11:30am.

So far, UNT has outscored our 3 opponents 23-2, and the Mean Green are the only undefeated team left in the Buzz Classic, despite being the only team in this tournament to not have a single senior in their starting line-up. Mean Green Softball looks very strong this season. If we take down Georgia Tech by an impressive score tomorrow, UNT might just creep up a little more in the rankings this week.

Liberty lost to the #1 team in the country Oklahoma in extra innings 1-0. They they lost to top 15 Duke team 8-5 also in extra innings. After being slaughtered by ranked Washington 8-0, Liberty got their first win beating San Jose State 8-0. Liberty has an impossible schedule this year where they face 12 team 20 teams.

LA Tech finished off the 3-game series sweep of SE Missouri by a run total of 18-1.
That will keep the 15-game home winning streak going.

UNT completed the sweep at the Buzz Classic by beating Georgia Tech 3-1. Ov er the opening weekend, UNT went 4-0 and outscored their opponents by a combined score of 26-3.

UNT will play next weekend in the Tracy Beard College Classic where they will play #16 Kentucky.

New D1 Softball Top 25

UNT wins two more today (6-0 against South Dakota & 8-0 against UT-A) and moves to 6-0 on the season, with impressive wins over Georgia Tech and UConn so far. As of today, the Mean Green have outscored their opponents 40-3. Tomorrow, UNT will face #15 Kentucky.

Last night UNT dropped their game against #16 Kentucky by a score of 4-0. And the girls didn't show up today against McNeese. UNT lost that game by a score of 4-2. It was nice being ranked while it lasted. Hopefully, the girls figure it out and get back to winning.

The LT announcer was good. The C-USATV feed was terrible (only one angle from behind the plate). The reflection in the glass of people walking behind the camera in the press box was very annoying.

MT softball off to one of their best starts ever at 18-6.

Don't believe they've beaten anyone with a high ranking yet.

Liberty softball had a tough start to the season. 6 of their 9 losses were to ranked teams, including one run losses to #1 and #2, UCLA and Oklahoma. Since then they beat Virginia and won a bunch of games in a row, and have moved up to #42 nationally in net rankings.
