I believe most people here are unhappy about the coach's performance. I know I am. I suppose he'll have one more season to turn it around, but I also suspect he's on a very hot seat right now. Abruptly firing three of your key staff isn't the action of a man secure in his position.

When did you think he should fire them, before the ball game?

Wait until spring practice is over?

Or do you think he should have made hints about it, gave them a warning, told them if they were probably gonna get fired in 2 to 4 weeks?

I'm not the one calling the shots for the program, but if it were up to me, I would have likely fired him after the last game. As it stands, we have him for another year. I'm willing to be patient and see what happens.

My opinion won't change anything in regards to how his employment is handled anyway. Are you just trolling again?

RE: NTR Michigan
This program has moved from the top 1/3 of the conference to the bottom 1/3rd under Ryan & it is troubling. We’ve managed to squeak out .500 overall records by lightening the non-conference slate, but 3-5 conference records & bottoming out in conference is not going to cut it.

I think 8-4 with a 6-2 or 5-3 conference record is a minimum. Beating a 6-6 Utah State squad, playing their 3rd string QB for 3/4ths of the game, was a nice end to the season, but its just a short term shot in the arm for a coach that needs to right the ship.

TCU endowment: $2.48 Billion
Memphis endowment: $0.220 Billion

Not saying they can buy players with their endowment, but that gives one an idea of what kind of financial supporters they have that can help out with NIL.

Bill Curry went 10-1 but lost to Auburn and was pretty much forced out.

John Cooper went 10-1 but couldn’t beat Michigan and was eventually fired

It’s crazy out there yet we catch hell here for criticizing a coach that goes 6-6 back to back years.

Difference is Alabama has won 956 games with a .732 % winning .16 national championships
Ohio state has won 953 games with a .733% winning. 8 national championships
Memphis has won 523 games with a 495% winning. With a Few conference titles
Plus RS only had one 6-6 year.

I'd settle for making and winning an Access Bowl (Cotton, Peach, Fiesta, etc)

They also won a national title in 1938 and squandered decades in a power league.

Shout out too to Memphian Dallan Hayden who as a true freshman was OSU’s leading rusher last night.

They specifically mentioned him being from Memphis, and CBHS. RS has to keep this level of talent at home.

Dude.

You can criticize Silverfield for a few things, but not his recruiting.

A guy of that caliber is not staying in Memphis.

Yeah, isn't "abruptly firing" sort of redundant?
I agree he's on the hot seat, tho.
