Lord help us!

I saw Baylor and Kansas play this year on a super windy day at McLane Stadium. I wasn't impressed with either team. Kansas wasn't the same squad once their stud QB got hurt (although I guess he did come back to play later in the season?). They also had a key RB get hurt midway through the season and I don't believe he returned.

That's why I personally would pick Alabama over TCU for the final playoff spot - TCU struggled to beat both teams.

TCU has no defense. They struggled to beat two-thirds of the opponents this year. However, I'm not sure how Alabama would get the nod over Tennessee as the Vols not only won the head to head, but have a far superior overall resume. Alabama didn't beat anybody-- their best win was against an 8-4 squad, and they barely eeked that one out. Having said that, you simply cannot set precedent and pick a two-loss team that didn't even play in the conference championship game over a one-loss team that won the regular season Big12 championship.

Considering the circumstances, and the teams at the bottom of the bowl pecking order, wouldn't Rice vs New Mexico Stste in Frisco be the most justifiable since we get in on APR and they got a waiver to get in? If so, we'd likely have our hands full as they destroyed Valpo Saturday.

The committee chooses based on current team strength rather than overall body of work, and with Hendon Hooker out, Tennessee is nowhere close to the same team that beat Bama or rang up that resume. I would pick Alabama or Clemson over today's Tennessee.

Stop using Saban's talking points. Where in the Committee's rules/criteria does it say you're picking based on current team strength? BTW, who the heck did Alabama beat this year? They finished 4th in the SEC, and the best team they beat finished with an 8-4 record. Aside from their two losses, they barely escaped another two games.

According to the roost, Brett McMurphy reported that Appalachian State was denied a waiver for its two wins over FCS opponents. However the sporting news has its “final lineup“ for this year‘s bowls and does not include rice, but does include app state. Anybody knows what gives?

McMurphy is showing Rice versus Southern Miss at Mobile on Saturday the 17th. I would think that to be a decent matchup and a decent bowl for us. Previously he had us playing Uconnin the Fresno bowl. It’s bottom of the barrel, but it’s an easy drive. This also on Saturday the 17th.

Fact is, when the announcement come in later this morning, they’ll be a rush for reservations for only a handful of available airline seats. Any information would be welcomed.

Fresno is an easy drive from...? I think you might mean Frisco, but I can't see his info so maybe I'm mistaken.
Edit: I think I read what you wrote wrong. I think you mean that Mobile is an easy drive, which I would agree with. Sorry 'bout that. My bad.

No I meant Frisco. Actually I dictated Frisco but it heard me at saying Fresno. Damn dictation.

I'd like to play Kansas as it would be almost 61 years to the day that we hosted them in the Bluebonnet Bowl (Dec. 16, 1961). John Hadl (who just passed away last week) was the QB for Kansas that day.

I'm assuming 1 or 2 people on this board were at that game. According to the recap, the attendance was 53,000.

Tough game - we've beaten them twice in a row so they will be keyed up to end that streak. Plus, it's only 90 miles from Hattiesburg to Mobile.

Not a lot of cheap flight options to Mobile from Houston. I just booked a flight on United, just in case…

Technically, we played two bowl games in 1961 - the other on 1-1-61.
