Facts are hard for some… Go Raiders!
Well, if you like to be humiliated and embarrassed you’ve hitched your wagon to the right coach.
No… I want the younger guys to get 10 more practices in December and develop more before spring ball. I could careless about an exhibition game. It’s those practices that matter. But that’s difficult to under for Kid Rocket and Bcunn.
An exhibition game?? There's a damn trophy on the line to bring home to campus. What kind of fan are you if you couldn't care less about that? We'll never make the playoffs, so a bowl game is the next best thing for Toledo. It's weird energy if you're okay with ending the season with a big fat L, which we're all accustomed to with Jason Candle as HC.
I don't care about a bowl game, its great for a program that has struggled for years and finally is bowl eligible which is exciting for team and fan base. But not so much for a program with series of 6+ win seasons, last season collapses, and fails to get to MACC, goes to bowl and loses. Even a win really does little to take away from a disappointing season. At that point from a fan perspective (not helped by series of recent bowl losses) who really cares? Yes its great for players and staff, but a 7-6 team after MACC loss. Bringing home the trophy from winning the Tropical Fruit Bowl sponsored by 7/11 - who cares??? May have been a time that bowls and willing one had real meaning but with 42 bowls and 6-6 teams getting slots, they are just a corporate PR entity these days. Again great for trip and events for the players but for fans.....nothing....

It's is very difficult to for me to envision UT getting better with Candle as HC. That's the bottom line. Does anyone seriously think UT will suddenly have a resurgence under JC? I think not. Therefore, A new HC is the only clear path to better fortunes for our beloved football program. The change is seriously needed.
UT was historically a basketball school that played football until the FXL years. Since then we have been both and with a very strong women's program. I DO NOT WANT TO RETURN TO A BASKETBALL ONLY SCHOOL !!!
Good teams are ready to play, minimize mistakes, make meaningful adjustments as the game progresses, Play with pride, and finish seasons strong. UT does none of the above.
I have no ax to grind with JC. I find it difficult to advocate for termination of someone's contract and job. A sensitive subject for me personally. However, he is paid big bucks and has a clear mission. He will land a good job as a coordinator somewhere and then get another HC job in a few years.
BB has some difficult decisions ahead of him.
We will likely have JC through his complete contract. Only he can save his job with a HUGE turnaround in 2023.

The comment on the lower level OL portal invites got me conspiracy thinking. If there's ANY thought to not retaining Coach Candle, an AD might consider slowing his roll a bit, filling roster with players not ready to improve the situation here. Let new coach do that.

Yes, yesterday. 4th and one with the game on the line he calls a pass play that has zero hope of success, took too long to develop. OL couldn't give Gleason two seconds to save the game.

If they ran the ball it would have been a 3 yard loss. Don't mind the play call but I wish they would have gotten Gleason on the edge with an option to run or hit the WR on that crossing route.

Cannot fathom Candle or UT wanting a coach recruiting on a one year deal.
Extension or parting ways is the only path forward I see

Mr. Bryan Blair, Which coach we have isn't all that important. Can we PLEASE get a decent mug of hot chocolate AND a popcorn for our $4 fan plan concession ticket? TY
