RE: Bryan Blair this is for you
1. Fire Candle now. Like, tonight.
2. Name Kehres or Kool as interim head coach for the MACC game.
3. Don’t worry about negative impact on the team—if they really cared about Candle, they would have played much harder this season to save his job. Everyone knows what this season was about. Keeping Candle means everyone is on pins & needles. A coaching change now might just kick this team in the ass in the right way.
4. Tell the team & coaching staff there will be no Bowl game if we lose in Detroit.
5. I’m not a fan of being lazy, panicking, & just promoting Kehres or Kool to be done with it, but if the team responds and wins in Detroit and a Bowl, then let either apply and see who else is interested.
6. If we lose in Detroit—particularly if we don’t even show up—then take your time on a coaching hire. The program isn’t going to get turned around next season anyway.

Agree except for Kehres. Please no more coaches from *ucking Mt. Union. That's half the reason we got where we are.

So much this. But what are the chances that something like this ever reaches the eyes of the AD?

Play calling was bad as usual where was Penny Boone? When he ran the ball we gained yardage. Time far Candle to taake an OC job someplace else.

Maybe he can be the special teams coach at Mt Union.

I have no interest in seeing this team finish 7-7. I’m willing to bet I’m not the only Rocket fan who feels that way. Wanna go to a bowl game? Earn it. Don’t just “qualify” or “be eligible” for one.

I think he may have gotten injured. I swear we have more injuries than any other MAC team. Maybe need to look for new strength/conditioning coach while we’re looking for new O line and Special Teams coaches.

I guess I’m an idiot too Potts. We turned down a bowl recently as I recall, this team is even worse.

That was the covid year, where numerous teams turned down bowl games. Outside of 2020, you can probably count on 1 hand the number of schools who have turned down a bowl in the last 15+ years.

Post-game quotes from our illustrious coach:

“We have to do a better job of preparing offensively,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said. “We’ve got to do a better job of executing offensively. We need to do a better job of getting our kids ready to rock ’n roll and get ready to play.”

“Their front created a lot of problems,” Candle said. “There were [82] snaps in that football game and probably 65 pressures. They came after us and challenged us and made our guys win 1-on-1s. They made it difficult to function in the passing game.”

“You can talk about gaining a lot of yards offensively, but it doesn’t matter,” Candle said. “You have to score points. You have to win the situations. You have to win the third downs. You have to score in the red zone.”

No s**t Sherlock. That’s why you get paid the big bucks to prepare for and to win games. 03-banghead

Well, if you like to be humiliated and embarrassed you’ve hitched your wagon to the right coach.

Gotta love the first couple statements. That’s exactly what you want to hear from your head coach after game # 12 in the season. He sounds more & more like Coach Stefanski with the Browns.
