Coach Jones told me himself several weeks ago that he recruited Jadin Johnson to be a point guard at ODU, but once he arrived in Norfolk it was apparent to him that he was more of an off guard.
He had some nice things to say about Jadin in addition to the specifics noted above.
YES - 2 guard is what he is playing in practice.
NO - it's not the position he was brought here as a recruit to play.
I have no idea how much time coaches spend watching players they recruit. But is that normal? I suspect it might be if a growth spurt happens or something where you recruit a kid then they show up and it's like woa, wait. But that seems like it might not happen often. On the one hand that's great. People always say they hope a coach plays the game to the best of the skills of the athletes. On the other hand, one could question are they spending a lot of time understanding the kids they recruit.

The ODU Women played VW in an exhibition game a couple years back. I would hate to see that game on the regular season schedule. A game like that doesn't tell you anything about the team, unless you lose to them, then that would speak volumes.

The women are hosting Lincoln (Pa.) for the education day game. Lincoln is a D2 CIAA school. To Lincoln's credit, they did have a pretty good season last year going 22-8 (12-4 in conference) but a non-D1 is a non-D1.
