Dave pulled his punches on that one. It was funny, I honestly think he is incapable of not being funny, but on most of his stuff he's an equal opportunity guy as far as his targets. It was clear he wanted to go safer on this one and cater to his audience (not necessarily the people in the stands or at home watching). I dare say it's the first time I've seen him play it safe. Guess the Trans-issues and the Kanye stuff made him cautious.

I thought so too. I kept thinking "Oh boy, he's going to expand on this in a Netflix 1 hour special".

Probably true; however, still surprised me given Chappell's stance on the trans and SNL's left leaning tendencies.

Not only did he stand up for himself. He doubled down with a comedy special. Although this time he's entered the truly 3rd rail of discussion.
