And beat the hell out of La tech the next week.
The downside is like someone else said, we get players beat up or injured and lessen our chances against LaTech, BUT all I want is to try. It does feel like Clark didn't really put much emphasis on the P5 games, especially the SEC ones but we kept getting teams in thier playoff contention years.
No different this year. LSU is very much alive in playoff race. I don't think we should phone it in but we shouldn't keep our guys out there to get manhandled if the game gets out of hand.

I think it is different this year. this team can’t win a championship. The one thing they can do to enhance their legacy is land the best win in school history. Also for every kid in this team, they are auditioning for their next coach, whoever and wherever that is.

great win...whether we finally turned the corner and were ready to compete and beat the big boys, or whether it was a one and done, I guess we'll never know, as it was his last game to coach the Blazers

People seriously overvalue that win. Was it good? Sure. It was also a meaningless bowl game in Shreveport, Louisiana, where the opposing team had a bunch of injuries and no motivation in being there. Clark got his ass beat anytime he went against a good team OOC in the regular season.

+1 That win isn't that impressive really.

It was still an impressive win, but the rest of your points are valid.

I still think the BYU win was a good one. However I certainly believe a competitive, close outing against LSU would be far more beneficial to our program this year than a meaningless bowl appearance. With so many bowls, going to one having not even won the conference has little value anymore.

Pointing out where he fell short doesn’t mean we aren’t grateful for what he did. You can appreciate what he did here while acknowledging what he didn’t do well.

Watching the post game presser BV was quiet and somewhat reflective. I don't know if he's been given the word or if he had just spent all his emotion out on the field

If he has, it would mean that Mark has his man locked up.

Quote:Running Back: DeWayne McBride, UAB
Becoming the UAB all-time leader in rushing touchdowns, DeWayne McBride continued his historic 2022 season and historic career at the same time. With three rushing touchdowns, McBride now has 17 rushing scores on the season, a new UAB single-season record.
That also gives McBride 34 career rushing touchdowns as he’s set all-new career highs this year. His 120 yards on the ground gave him 3,217 rushing yards for his career, and McBride paced UAB to an early lead before helping their comeback efforts against North Texas.
