I loved what I saw from them at UNC. They just ran out of gas down the stretch.

We'll see. UNCW has owned CofC with their matador defense and run and gun offense. We held UNC to 69 and CofC gave up 102 and we've got all kinds of length to disrupt their offense and hit the boards.

Okay don’t get all defensive because someone gave a little props to CofC. I saw UNCW’s solid performance at UNC too. CofC led at the half and midway into the 2nd half. What you did against them last year means nothing. Both teams look very good right now.

The 3 best teams are Towson, CofC and UNCW (and it’s not in any order)
IMO.

Lol, who's getting defensive? I'm just pointing out that CofC had a problem with defense last year and they didn't show it against UNC and didn't show it last year.

I'd also add Hofstra to your three to create four top teams. Delaware was picked in the top 5 but that showing against Air Force didn't look too good.
Agree Hofstra up there also

So thats 3-0 over the A-10. Nice start

Schedules were much better overall but mostly missed chances though with Providence, Florida, UNC (x2), Illinois, Iowa State, Harvard, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Seton Hall.

Conference still looking for that marquee win over a major conference this season. Still some more chances ahead

RE: Men's basketball around the CAA
The CAA has a higher percent of their nonconference games away than usual. Hofstra's next 11 games have only one home game, which is non-Division I. Hofstra's next two are at San Jose State and St. Mary's, and the latter is a chance at a great win. It will be hard for the CAA to be .400 or better nonconference vs. Division I.

As stated on the SBU board, the four new CAA teams are 3-9 with wins over Edward Waters, Regent and Miami Hamilton. Otherwise, goose egg. And from that group there have been losses by 48, 47, 41, 38, 37, 36 and 27 points. ::cringe::

RE: Men's basketball around the CAA
Big three of the CAA keep on winning

Hofstra 85 San Jose State 76
Charleston 89 Davidson 66
Towson 56 UNCG 53

Elon, Monmouth and Stony Brook all take the L

Pretty clear who are the top 3 in the CAA right now.

Thankfully Drexel has only played 2 games and is 1-1. But yes not a good start for the conference. Too many non D1 games are being played. So far it feels like the conference is playing non DI games or playing giants and nothing in between. We have to find a better mix in between.

I don't mind the start for the conference. The path to a multi bid conference is to have a really strong top 3-4 teams who can run the table in conference along with some strong OOC wins. Right now, CofC, Towson and Hofstra are all building at large resume's.

Hofstra gets a 4-0 St Marys team at home Saturday, CofC gets a 4-0 Kent State next Tuesday. After UConn, UNCW gets some of the mid level games with Missouri St., Coastal Carolins, ECU, Jacksonville, High Point, Campbell.

Charleston beat Virginia Tech 77-75. Virginia Tech was 5-0. Virginia Tech was led by Justyn Mutts with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Mutts is playing for his third team in his sixth year of school, and he had 18 points and 11 rebounds at Charleston while playing for Delaware on February 27, 2020.

Wofford leads North Carolina A&T 27-16.

I think that is the first power 5 victory for the CAA. Hofstra got blasted by St Marys Saturday, too. Elon hung close to NC State

Agreed. This tournament starting today may give some insight into what Drexel will look like this season, with so many unknowns. We are on the "easier" side of the bracket so there is a good opportunity. Hoping we find a way to face either ECU or Toledo. Though I fear both would destroy us (especially Toledo)

Nice to see a potential power team this year! Congrats to the Cougars.

The CAA really needs that.
