Towson and Charleston were the only favorites. Towson blew a 15 point lead, went down 59-57 with 3:44 left, and won 72-67. Cameron Holden (1-7) and Nicolas Timberlake (1-10) shot horribly, and Towson made only 3 threes. Charleston led by 10 in the second half and let the lead get down to 3. Hofstra led by 5 early, trailed by as much as 12 including trailing for over 30 consecutive minutes, and had a great end to win 83-77 at Princeton. Aaron Estrada shot 12-19 and scored 27. Jaquan Carlos made two threes in three possessions including the winning three with 1:11 left. He made more threes than last season when he shot threes 1-16. UNCW was an underdog by 23 and covered.
Wow, Hampton is bad at basketball. Getting thumped by JMU. They have been an AWFUL addition to the CAA so far.

And I'm certain that their fans are doing some chest thumping over it too, by beating up on their CAA replacement.
Part of me says that Monmouth's in for a long year with so few impact returnees or transfers. It's tough to be young when teams are trotting out a lineup of 24-year-olds. That said, they've got a soft landing spot after these first three games and Rice teams flirt with or surpass 20 wins more often than not. Let's see where he has these guys in a month.
It will always be interesting to see how teams perform when they step in in caliber of teams in conference. I think Monmouth will have a learning curve in this league but should be able to get to mid table. Hampton might not win a game in conference. A&T will be the curious team to keep eyes on to see how they transfer into this league. They have some talent.
Towson sets the tone with the win at A10 member UMass 67-55. Pretty much led from start to finish.
Lot's of opportunities OOC for the CAA this Friday Nov 10th.

Charleston at UNC
Iona at Hofstra
ODU at Drexel
A&T at Iowa
Elon at ETSU
Monmouth at UVA

Kudos to Towson
Delaware loses to Air Force
Hofstra beats Iona
Drexel beats ODU
CofC loses to UNC

Elon hanging tight with ETSU, Monmouth hanging with UVA and A&T getting blown out by Iowa
Towson had a nice win yesterday but IMO, CofC looks like the favorite.

I loved what I saw from them at UNC. They just ran out of gas down the stretch.

I see yall aren't playing Central this year?

Is that rivalry dead for all sports moving forward?

We'll see. UNCW has owned CofC with their matador defense and run and gun offense. We held UNC to 69 and CofC gave up 102 and we've got all kinds of length to disrupt their offense and hit the boards.

It’s just dead in men’s basketball

Word on the street is that they wanted $40k to play us on campus!!!

Basically Moton doesn’t want to play us??‍♂️

This academic year we play NCCU in every sport except men’s basketball

Okay don’t get all defensive because someone gave a little props to CofC. I saw UNCW’s solid performance at UNC too. CofC led at the half and midway into the 2nd half. What you did against them last year means nothing. Both teams look very good right now.

The 3 best teams are Towson, CofC and UNCW (and it’s not in any order)
IMO.

Lol, who's getting defensive? I'm just pointing out that CofC had a problem with defense last year and they didn't show it against UNC and didn't show it last year.

I'd also add Hofstra to your three to create four top teams. Delaware was picked in the top 5 but that showing against Air Force didn't look too good.
Hofstra holds on to beat GW 85-80
Charleston blows a 21 point second half lead but pulls out the 92-90 win over Richmond in OT. Two big wins for the CAA tonight.
