Why wasn't Cunningham thrown out for the excessive facemask and drag?

Cunningham took a player 10 yards out of bounds by the face mask into a brick wall head fist, Cunningham should not be playing again this year

Absolutely. The QB should have received a flagrant and been ejected.
That said, in real time, it was impossible to see that Cunningham was the culprit, and that he had a firm grasp on the CB’s mask. At first glance it appeared that Jones was driving Cunningham into the wall out-of-bounds, when in truth it was Cunningham dragging the defender with him. Dirty play by Cunningham.
Yeah in real time and from the angle we had in the JMU section it just looked like Jones drove Cunningham way out of bounds then our whole sideline came running ready to get in a brawl. I was sitting there going "oh no, come on guys, we're better than this.". Then seeing a replay, yep we absolutely are and were better than that. It was on Cunningham and looked like our guys were just looking to break things up. I'm glad the ESPNU commentators recognized that, even if ericsaid didn't

Ehhh I still think the QB depth is the only sure issue. Which is a problem of course, you need to have a capable backup and we don't. But I just don't see it as such a problem all across the roster. We played them even the first half, our defense played really well outside of the first drive. Our offense was able to do enough despite being extremely one dimensional. As the game went on and they realized how one dimensional we were then they shut down that one dimension and of course the defense is gonna wear down when the offense can't do anything.
In my opinion that doesn't happen if we just have a healthy and capable QB. Maybe it still would, can't really know. Hopefully Centeio gets healthy and we can see for the rest of the year. For next year, I'd almost say we need two QBs from the portal because we can't just always be one play away from being so much worse.
