It would be an impressive upset, but this or NCSU are the only chances Satterfield has of getting bowl eligible and ensuring he’s retained.

I grew up an ECU fan, so I hated Louisville (long history there surrounding conference membership).
Then Scott Satterfield went there, and I liked them a bit more, because I like Scott Satterfield.

I hope you Dukes beat him though. Remind him of the conference he left.

Ha, I don't really have any strong feelings one way or the other about them. I always kinda liked their basketball because I liked Pitino and always thought he was one of the greatest.

Making the trip unless Centeio is announced out so we'll see whether their fans are dbags or not. In a week I guess I'll have more reason to either hate them or respect them lol. Although now that we're FBS I can be more understanding of trash talkers, I always thought fans like Maryland and UNC were a bunch of weirdos throwing it in people's faces when they're beating an FCS team.

Sam Kidd is out for the year, shoulder surgery. Mateo Jackson is out, likely for the year. Others, most notably Centeio, Cig said we should know more this week. Cig is usually the type to keep it a secret as long as possible though so probably just wait and see. I hope he makes an announcement because as you all saw we don't have a capable backup and I don't really wanna make the trip to see us lose by 60 lol... But we'll probably just have to go and hope for the best.

JMU may be missing it’s starting R and L tackles too. Nick Kidwell in particular is a big loss when he’s not on the field.

Even with Centeio back it’s going to be a tall order for a JMU win. Not impossible, but very tough.

It goes back to being conference mates with them back in the Metro conference (non-football) and in CUSA. There were many heated games and Southern Miss owned the Cardinals for the longest time.

Some of my favorite memories vs the Cards are...
Mills Kills - a fake punt at Louisville on national TV (ESPN on Thurs night I think) that the refs initially threw a flag, then picked it up. The play led to a Southern Miss victory.

Miracle at Louisville - Favre drops back. He evades big Ted Washington (DL that played in NFL many seasons). He's gonna throw it as far as he can. It's tipped... and caught by Tillman. He's at the 15, the 10, TOUCHDOWN Golden Eagles. The was the last play of that game.

Moon Over Hattiesburg... Howard Shnellenberger brought one of the best Louisville teams ever to The Rock. Southern Miss got 3 early TDs and held on to win. Ole Howard said it had to be the "Moon over Hattiesburg" that led to the Cardinals demise that night. Louisville waxed Bama in the Fiesta Bowl that season.
