ODU also has a 5 year running "fire the basketball coach" thread

Yep and a lot less longer than JMU has the thread for monitoring the conference realignment. 03-nutkick

What exactly did ODU accomplish while JMU monitored the situation?

If I remember correctly, there was a canceled football season, a fired football coach and a football game that included ODU asking the opposing team if the game could be ended without having to play all 60 minutes

We also beat JMU two times.

While "JMU monitored the situation", ODU was playing in the big leagues of college football vs playing in the minor leagues.

ODU's players got a trip to the Bahamas where they won a bowl game.

ODU got a home and home series set up for well over a decade with VA Tech - and scheduled other teams like App St., ECU, NC St., and UVA - while JMU was stuck playing teams like Elon, Richmond, Towson, and W&M. ODU has ACC teams scheduled to be visiting Norfolk for the next several seasons.

ODU defeated #10/13 VA Tech in front of a sold-out crowd in Norfolk.

JMU beat #13 VT in sold out Lane Stadium with 22 fewer scholarships. JMU beat ECU with 22 fewer scholarships. JMU beat SMU with 22 fewer scholarships. UVA would not play JMU. JMU played NC State very competitively with 22 fewer scholarships.

I players have not gone to the Bahamas and eaten co(n)ck fritters, I will give you that one

That's all well and good, but the question was - "What did ODU accomplish while JMU was monitoring the situation". It wasn't - "What was JMU doing while they monitored the situation".

Guess you're also giving ODU these too since you conveniently overlooked them with your response -

* ODU was playing in the big leagues of college football vs playing in the minor leagues. I've seen the JMU board over the past several years. Most there were upset that ODU went to FBS before they did, and were anxious for the JMU leadership to get their act together and make the transition themselves.

* ODU got a home and home series set up for well over a decade with VA Tech - and scheduled other teams like App St., ECU, NC St., and UVA - while JMU was stuck playing teams like Elon, Richmond, Towson, and W&M. ODU has ACC teams scheduled to be visiting Norfolk for the next several seasons. Those are in addition to the regular CUSA schedule of FBS teams.

Part of the reason UVA wouldn't schedule JMU is because you were not in FBS. Another is because Harrisonburg isn't a big football recruiting area. You can't change the recruiting issue but being FBS now should open up some scheduling doors for JMU that previously remained closed.

You are missing the point though. We have had UNC, NC St, Wake and VT all visit Foreman Field to play in Our Stadium, key word "Our Stadium" and no one gives two ***** what you have done to beat ECU or SMU but even G5's won't visit an FCS team so yeah we have done well for ourselves while not very successful. I'll take that over staying in a crappy FCS league playing and beating some hapless teams which really means nothing.
