This is why it's all still so relevant today.

I wonder how many among those 370 actually believe, privately, that the election was stolen/rigged/whatever. Because it's really become a purity test for GOP admission and Trump blessings.

And GRBRONCO is here to tell you it's the Democrats who haven't moved on from the last election.

RE: Jan. 6 Committee
Trump's power over these guys is that his cult believes to the tune of 92% what he says about the election, and those MAGA-GOP types have to sing along lest they lose their primaries.

They're also the same people that don't realize that in ten minutes one could learn to produce a YouTube video. One that looks high production pushing all the theories they espouse about the election. Since it looks "high production", it must be true.

We're hostage to a "sophistication gap" that Trump and his cult leaders are exploiting. That's as nice as one can put it.

Shhhh..according to media all our current problems are a global phenomena or due to COVID. Instead of Biden using defense production act to boost oil refineries he used it for solar panels and heat pumps. Heat pumps that are already plentiful and low in demand mind you

We're talking about democracy systematically being under attack by MAGA-GOP and you two are deflecting with irrelevant Fox News talking points.

Thanks for illustrating the point.

That's EXACTLY how they like to frame it while inadvertently admitting that their Fox, NewsMax etc aren't really "News" when they do that.

And yet, GOP actively votes against anything designed to ease those financial problems, because ‘Brandon’ is president.

And let's be honest here: Trump/MAGA's popularity doesn't come from economic issues.

It's driven largely by white, Christian grievance baked into cultural and social ("woke") wars. Trump and his mini-me's hate the same people they do. It's about turning back the clock to 1950s mores.

And guns guns guns.

Gas and food prices, while admittedly not in a good place right now, is low on their list of importance.

This^^^^

They prove that each time they're in power. They care less.

These talking points and faux outrage, including the border and "the wall" are red herrings to distract that their goal is power first and foremost.

Saying every school shooting is a mental health issue to protect their contributions from the NRA & then voting against expanding Mental Health Services in Schools is a classic.

It is, and many more. They DGAF. They are delighted at the attempts that are made to play "gotcha" when they're hypocritical with their numerous nasty takes.

They already know. Just trying to waste our energy. The sooner that's widely realized and they're dismissed as the group who's word means nothing, the better.

They're a lot like dealing with Russian propaganda. I just said something there.

According to recent polls, the economy is the #1 issue among voters. Republican voters(Trump's Party at this point) the issues are #1 the Economy and #2 Second Amendment Rights. Abortion comes up as about the 7th issue of importance.

Oh sure, Trump voters are so reliable. They always tell the truth when asked. Ask our pollsters from the last two elections.

If they REALLY felt that way the MAGA-GOP platform would reflect those values and the primary winners would to, but it seems that the most important metric is whether or not that they say that they feel that the election was stolen.

They can say their prioritiest all they want, they're not going to acknowledge that they (and you) back the traitors and insurrectionists and that's the main issue to them.

Sure, it's what they'll tell pollsters, publicly. It's certainly the #1 challenge dogging Biden right now.

But watch the Trump rallies, CPAC speeches, right-wing social media... It's not economic stuff that fuels MAGA's engines.
