I I thought Toure came back. He is listed on Huskie website football roster and that is fairly up to date. Looks like 24/7 needs to update their website at usual.

Yeah, I'm guessing they aren't giving much attention to updating the NIU page. Much like all other media coverage when it comes to NIU.

Remember the Xavior Williams mess up a few years back? They thought he was coming here. Had us all excited.

I think he was on the sideline in his jersey, just no pads.

Will football and basketball programs have to have a coach who reviews portal entrants? Will less high school recruits get scholarship opportunities

Will less HS guys get schollys? No you still need players
to fill the roster. Everyone cannot be trading transfer portal players. You will need same amount of players because of graduation , injuries and guys throwing in the towel.

Since the portal is so fluid now, as a coach, I would rather recruit transfers with a couple years at P5 program than seniors in high school. Less risk, more immediate impact. Quicker return on investment.

I think there's some truth to that. But there's also something to be said for getting a 4 year starter. Especially for a unit like O-line were cohesion is important. If you can get a group that 3 to 4 of the guys play together for 3 years its a big boost. But a good mix of transfers and recruits really seems ideal.

Watching Boise St on CBS and I see former Huskie Cortez Hogans DL is playing for Boise. He was a LB recruit under Carey from Palatine . He transferred to Snow JC after Northern.

Well, that's Boise State. One of the clear-cut best Group of 5 teams in the country for like forever.

So you are probably right.

He came in as a LB and played as a true Fr..There were issues with Carey or his grades and he moved on. Our program is noted to develop players.

Who does everyone think is going to be our biggest name to hit the portal this year?

Do we have big names? Brown? He’s good. Just about any RB we put out seems to do fine. Some better than others…but not really.

I mean brown and Waylee have to be the only players anyone might want. O’Malley might be wanted. Ester? I dunno he’s ok. Literally the whole roster is meh. Can’t imagine many of the transfers are wanted. Ask Toure.
