I honestly don't know what this means, but call it whatever you want, NIL, collective, stipend, whatever.
He's getting money there and it's more than he got at NIU.

NOT any more money than any NCAA D1 student athlete:
College athletes from foreign countries have been left out of the rush for endorsement deals because student visa rules largely prohibit work while in the US. But a growing number are pursuing a loophole: They can profit from use of their name, image and likeness (NIL) when traveling internationally and are not on US soil.

I personally don't think this is any big loss. He couldn't stay on the floor because he was always getting into foul trouble. He did block shots, but again, it sometimes got him into foul trouble. He also wasn't a great shooter. It will be interesting to see how he fares under a different coach in a different system. He's slow, so any motion offense system is bad for him. He's built more for a Purdue style offense.

Yanic is getting NO money to play....at PSU he will be surrounded by better talent and will thrive in his role which I think may well be as a backup at least the first year. Remember, the kid has hardly played but I think he has a big upside. Will be fun to watch if healthy.
You don’t seriously believe he isn’t being paid to transfer to Penn St do you? No one is signing anymore without a paycheck. I really think a lot of our fans are uneducated on what is happening in college sports these days. Big schools are handing out lots of money under the table through NIL. NIU won’t be able to compete and these student athletes will continue to leave NIU even for a back up role because they’ll be paid.

He wasn’t an all star but he improved a lot from year 1 to 2. He led the mac in blocked shots. He was a lot better than anyone else we have at center so not sure why people think he won’t be a loss for us.

Exactly. This loss is probably the biggest loss behind Coit and maybe bigger if you consider his potential.
He's 6'11" and athletic. Anyone saying he's not, is either not paying attention or are just being contrarian.
He was tracking upward and now they either find someone to replace him (we don't have anyone close currently on the roster) or they start over.

He is not athletic. Amos is "athletic." He only averaged 19.6 min in playing time. That's less than one half of the game. The reason is 69 fouls committed in 26 games. Yes he blocks shots when he was on the floor. But he's slow and often gets in foul trouble.
