As for App State, welcome to Big Boy Football. You don’t have a league full of dregs and a couple of good teams anymore. In fact, the new teams may be better than you and JMU already is better than you in its transition year from FCS.

I can’t imagine losing a 28-3 lead. What does that feel like for players, coaches, and the fans? I’ve never experienced anything that severe so I can’t relate.

The second and third graphs — go ahead and strut. Y’all have earned it.

As for pulling for other SBC teams, pull for all of them in non-conference play. I pull for Georgia Southern OOC. I feel dirty, but I do it. However, you can reserve the right to talk smack about letting down the league when they lose.

Yeah I have no moral dilemma wanting to kick the sh!t out of a team one week and then hoping they wipe the floor with another team the next week. Sure in some cases I hope for a double knockout but its:

It sucked pretty bad and was an awful experience to lose that way to a transitioning FCS call up. Something else you can’t relate to is 2 wins over #5 and #6 ranked FBS teams…Back to back to back FCS National Championships. I can’t relate to losing to ODU (yet). Head to head, I can’t relate to JMU’s overall 5-12 record against App or JMU’s inability to defeat App in the playoffs. But congratulations on your win that won’t get you the the CCG, that stands for conference championship game, another thing you may not be able to relate to.

I called, they said a single loss against a lesser program does not constitute inferiority, especially if history supports the opposite and that I should recommend for you to call the help line 1-800-DAD-ODU?

Liberty is a school I will NEVER root for. EVER. I went to high school in Bedford County and Liberty was the closest school by a lot. We even had our high school graduation there.
My reasons are mostly personal and not really political. This isn't the place to talk about it as it isn't sports related, either.
I don't like ODU, but I would root for them in a heartbeat over Liberty.

I think most reasonable fans in the SunBelt share your outlook on Liberty. I would pull for Coastal or Georgia Southern over them easily. I need to go take a shower now. 03-puke

I used to play hockey with a group that would do travel games now and then, and sometimes we'd play at Liberty. The first time I ever played there I was like "ok DEFINITELY gotta wear a JMU shirt cause I gotta make it clear I don't support Liberty"... Then just about everyone was wearing some other college, it's like everyone else had the same thought 03-lmfao That was always the case when we played there but not other places.

Ha it appears I hit the hot button with the "VT/UVA/Liberty" grouping.

You guys sounds like my mom 15 years ago. I got home from high school and told her Coach Wachenheim came by the school and offered me a scholarship. Instead of excitement for my first FCS/D1 offer, her response was "I don't care what they offered, I'll pay double tuition at JMU before you go to Liberty."

What do they want for tuition? I have free reign over my office's supply closet and printer/copier.

I'll get you a diploma for 10 cents on the dollar.

Well to be fair isn't like 90% of their student body online to begin with?

I question anyone with a Liberty degree. I know two people who have one. The first would get on social media and was openly rooting for the government shutdown which ultimately occurred in 2013, then proceeded to complain the next day that he couldn't renew his pilot's license on the account the FAA was closed.

The second one thought got into an argument with me that the tax scheme known as the Ark Encounter up on Kentucky was a good use of $150 million and helps spread the word of God...which is rich seeing she's a missionary nurse serving in a third world country and should have a better idea of how that amount of funding could actually benefit people. And frankly you will never find an atheist who looks at that thing, a boat which doesn't float, costs $150 million to build, and was built in 18 months using modern day construction equipment and be convinced that a guy born two generations after the invention of the wheel, managed to do the same thing with hand tools and four kids.

They are a degree mill. Jerry Falwell U is a force to be reckoned with for all the wrong reasons.

Well this was mostly people from the Charlottesville to Harrisonburg area. Just was funny that everyone always had on their JMU, UVA, Radford, VT, etc gear when we played at Liberty specifically and not so much other places. Seemed like they all had the "gotta point out I don't support Liberty" mindset like I did.

But yeah good point seaking, we should probably drop the Liberty talk before a couple Liberty people come post 20 replies about how they're totally ok because Jerry Jr. isn't their president anymore.
