Creighton takes the 1st set vs Kansas State, 25-16.

Kansas State had led 19-15 in the 2nd but Creighton came back to win 25-22.

Kansas State still in it as they win the 3rd set, 25-13.

K-State blew out Creighton in the 3rd (25-13) to extend the match. Looking at the stats, it's not at all clear how/why Creighton is in the lead. Total points are even as are digs, aces and errors. K-State has a big edge in blocking, but Creighton somehow (and it's not clear how) has 12 more attack opportunities. Weird. Clearly, Creighton has an elite defense-- 59 digs (20/set) is a very high number.

Stats are still relatively equal, with the exception of K-States huge edge in blocks, yet Creighton is cruising to a 4-set victory. Not being there, it's hard to figure out how? Their hitting only .213 vs. K-State's .194. Defenses are dominating.

Creighton wins 3-1, and 25-19 in the fourth set.

They have two players (Norah Sis, Keely Davis), both Seniors, who get the overwhelming majority of attack chances. Sis had 54 attacks in this game; Davis 38. Davis is the much more efficient attacker, as Sis rarely hits over .200. (She hit just .111 vs. K-State.) She's appears to be a taller version of Maruska as she does play a pretty solid backline defense and is a full rotation player.

Game time and no students here yet, at least not in the student section. Creighton has a decent crowd.

Going to be a lot of long rallies.
