yea the Air Raid has never won anything of consequence and it is old and tired now and easy to figure out an solve that is why no one runs it anymore other than teams looking to have at best 7 or 8 wins most seasons and maybe a "break out year" with 9 wins and a tie for a conference division they can act like has some meaning

no they wouldn't there was a reason Houston was left out and Tech was not and there is a reason that TCU got back in long before Houston did and that is because Houston does the bare necessities to try and beg their way into something them rides the pine when they get there

the fan support is still poor as is the donor support the only thing different is an administration willing to spend students dollars on athletics and to make a lot of noise about it like it is something to be proud of

Nothing left to do but get back to work. Clean things up and move away from the idea of a run first offense. We DON'T have the offensive line or the running back depth for that this year. Its time for Dana to bring back the 2011 Air Raid. The pieces for one hell of an Air Raid offense ARE in place. May as well fashion the roster we DO have into the best team they can be rather than tying to keep pounding a square peg into a round hole.

Air raid is a gimmick..we have the offense but not the defense. You really want that defense out there in a shootout?

The Air Raid doesnt have to be an ultra fast tempo offense.

As for the defense---our current defense is much better than most we had when we were using the Air Raid. Besides, the offense a team runs doesnt dictate whether a defense gets off the field on 3rd down. If you consistently stop them on third down, your defense doesnt wear out. By the same token, if your offense is going 3-and-out with a run-run-pass series----its not really burning much more clock than a Air-Raid. The Air Raid runs the ball more than you think. It just uses the pass to set up the run rather than vice versa.

This is going to be a good rivalry in the new Big 12. I see a lot of trash talk between Houston and Texas Tech fans online, even when they aren't playing each other.

I was thinking last night that I hope leadership knows about this animosity and makes this an annual game. As nice as most of the conference is in supporting each other, including the new members, having some piss and vinegar like this is good, too.

Yes there was many reasons. The Lt. Governor was a Tech grad and UH having bad leadership were a couple of the biggies.

It definitely wasn't on the field performance because UH outclassed Tech in football and basketball while in the SWC.

Dude you don't represent Texas Tech you're just an annoying and arrogant person on this message board desperately trying to look smarter and more important than you really are. Check your ego because you're not a big shot.

And no, I don't care what you have to say about me.

where did I mention that I represent any university

and what I stated was clear facts and you are simply not smart enough to understand that

crappy fan support, crappy facilities, crappy donor support, terrible on the field performances for 75% of the time in the SWC, and a horrible administration is why uH never had a chance to be in the Big 12

and the difference between what TCU did and has done to get back in the Big 12 and what uH has done is night and day

you are the one with an ego because you let it get in the way of understanding simple realities

no one is overly impressed with a program built on the backs of student money and a couple of ranked seasons over the last 2 dozen plus seasons

Probably a good time to remind visitors that the Big12 board will have a short leash when it comes to trolling member schools.

RE: Houston/Tech
After watching the Tulane vs Houston game tonight I'm reminded why the Coogs were left out of the Big 12 when it was originally formed: ZERO FAN SUPPORT! That's it. Seeing an almost empty stadium when Tulane/UH flipped the overtime coin means nothing has changed. Houston is basically a welfare mom. UH doesn't just offer no value when negotiating a new Big 12 contract, UH is a value anchor dragging the entire B12 down.

BTW, I don't generally post negative posts about UH or any other school, but this needs to be said. If UH doesn't have the fandom to support a P4 conference school, than UH must be cut loose and replaced with a better supported school.
